This camp was fantastic, from the moment we arrived, to a welcome with the staff singing a welcome song to when we left, I felt we were saying goodbye to friends. The acting manager Julie, is terrific. Nothing was too much trouble.....in fact I had left a medication at home, and they had it flown in for me! The food was great, and I enjoyed the variety and inclusion of some Botswanian choices. Unfortunately it was quite wet when we stayed, but this didn't spoil our experience nor stop us from seeing anything that was available near or far from the camp. Once again our guide/tracker ....Rain (phonetically spelt) was a legend, and the bush bashing we did to hunt and shoot (with our cameras) was fantastic. The selection of game we saw here was awesome, and the inclusion of a mocorro .....canoe ride was very special. No paws and claws with this ride, just the serenity and beauty surrounding sounds. As with all the camps the 'sundowners' drink and nibbles s a hit. G&T anyone? Loved this place, there was something very special, not only the setting, but the guide and managers made it a definite to include in your safari experience.

This was our first trip to the Okavango Delta and we could not have picked a better spot to experience her beauty. Little Vumbura is located on a small island, has wonderfully decorated tents (although the word tent does not do the room real justice) and general areas, offers a very cosy and personal atmosphere (we especially likes the pre-diner drinks around the fire place) and offers a variety of activities to enjoy the bueatiful wilderness to its full potential. We recommend to book at least 3 nights. We did, but could have spend another day or two easily. But above all, the wonderfull people at Little Vumbura camp will make you feel so at ease. Special thanks to our guide Sam, who, with his passion and knowledge about the Delta, made this an experience we will never forget.

Little Vumbura is a fabulous camp. We loved every minute of it. Alex and his team were very welcoming. Wildlife is abundant. A lot of predators and great leopard sightings. Our guide Sevara was the best guide we had in all of Botswana. Thank you so much Sevara! We loved the bush lunch and the authentic dinner. We did not see the wild dogs on this trip but hopefully next time when we come back to Little Vumbura. We could have stayed longer than our three nights. Little Vumbura is a very special place.

I have posted some of my pictures of little vumbura on my website

Dear artickids,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this lovely review on Tripadvisor.
It is always very heart warming to hear how much people enjoyed their trips with us and we are very glad that we met, and perhaps even exceeded your expectations.

Hopefully on your next trip to Botswana with us, you will be lucky enough to get to see the Wild Dogs, a real privilege we can assure you.

Thank you for also posting some of your lovely pictures , they are really lovely Leopard shots and may they keep the memories of this trip with Wilderness Safaris alive for a long time to come.

Little Vumbura is an outstanding camp to visit in the Delta. It's location provides a wide range of activities, from game drives and walks to makoro rides and motor boat outings including fishing. The wildlife was abundant and predators are plentiful! The rooms are amazing and very comfortable. The food is incredible and the camp staff are very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this camp to anyone travelling with Wilderness Safaris as it is one of their best camps! I would suggest staying at least 3 nights though - we only stayed for 2 and this wasn't long enough!

Room Tip: Lower numbered rooms are less likely to have elephants in your way whilst moving to your tent!!!!!!

The drive into this wonderful camp was interrupted by a radio call from one of the guides who asked our driver if were interested in transferring to his vehicle, as rather than going directly to the camp, he had a sighting of a pack of wild dogs. This was an experience we didn't want to miss! The only other time we had see a wild dog was one who had joined a group of jackals at Mombo. This became the expectation of our game drives which was met on every occasion as we were fortunate to have Sevara as our guide. We did enjoy his company, humour, knowledge & professionalism.
Little Vumbura is a small camp, very well managed, with a very friendly staff The food was very good with variety. It is situated on an island & the layout is excellent giving all the tents their own privacy.

Little Vumbura was the 3rd of 4 camps we visited in September 2013. We were very lucky to have Silas as our guide, since he trains other guides. He exhuded experience and confidence. We were able to see leopards and lions, but also sable antelopes (not usual to see) and some Hipos outside of the water (when submerged you only see mostly their eyes) We were also very lucky to see a pack of wild dogs, which we followed on a hunt until the terrain and the light conspired to make us abandon their pursuit. Still we spent a couple of hours following them and enjoying their antics. As an amateur photograper that dutifully carried among the lenses my 500 mm which I expected to put to good use, Little Vumbura is blessed with an abundance of birds. Silas taught me a trick, since there were a number of carmine bee eaters hunting for insects and coming back to the same branch, he made me prefocus on the branch so the bee eater left and returned a few seconds later with an insect in his beak I was able to take (thanks to the 11 fps of my camera) incredible pictures of the bird landing, and also beating the poor insect to stun him before he would throw him in the air and grab him ready for swallowing. I also got to go on a mokoro (dugout canoe) and it was a relaxing and peaceful, a change of the bumpy roads on the land rover. I saw ( and took pictures of) the long reed frog and the painted frog, goliath heron, and numerous aquatic birds. We returned at night so I was able to get pictures of the mokoro and his driver agains the setting sun. I am enclosing one of those pictures. The accomodations were superb as was the food. We had a most wonderful time and would highly recommend it.

Little Vumbura Camp is on an island in the Okavango Delta. Since we were travelling as a family, we rented the entire camp and the experience was magical.

This is a "tented" camp, with each villa built on stilts with canvas and mesh walls. The shower overlooks the delta, and to take a shower as the sun is rising over the water, and to watch the huge variety of wild life, is unforgettable. The staff were exceptional and really "went above and beyond", seeming to anticipate our every want.

The variety of wild life - animals, birds and plants - is amazing, and our guides were knowledgeable and entertaining. The Okavango Delta is itself a magical place and Little Vumbura is the perfect camp in which to experience it, from the elephants you meet on the board walk outside your room, to the indescribable beauty of an African sunset over the delta.

It's mind-boggling to imagine the logistics of providing the wonderful food served at every meal. There's something surreal about eating "afternoon tea" in such a setting, all beautifully presented as if one were in a British drawing room. And our six-year-old granddaughter states quite categorically that the best hot chocolate is in Botswana.

A unique and magical place.
