The up market sister of Moremi Crossing, this is a 4-star camp that runs an impeccable and flawless course, even in the face of adversity (as I believe they had a few boats out of commission) whilst camp was full, and A HUGE kudos to management who managed to run everyone’s program without disruption whilst I was there. A lovely setting, with HUGE & SPACIOUS tents, shower, bath and no shortage of water!!!. Food was superb, service smooth and guides very well trained both safety wise and bush wise. Boats and mekoros were well maintained. Being next to the airstrip means fast access to camp, but also a bit of a drone noise from landings and taking offs as clients for both MX and Gunn’s use the same airstrip. You do get used to it very quickly though as your ears lock into far more pleasant sounds such as Wood-hoopoes, Barbets, Elephants trumpeting, Hippos grunting and the reed chorus of countless Reed Frogs. The lovely sunset deck is the hearth of camp and from here great G&T’s, amazing sunsets, and memorable game sighting can be relished in style. One, suggestion…. There should be a more complete reference book library for the curious at heart (Bird guides, mammal guides, tress and dragonfly guides, etc…). All in all, a VERY fine Delta Camp.

We only managed to spend one night at Gunn's Camp but, short as it might have been, it was nevertheless a great experience. We were spoiled with good service by everyone but a special mention must be made of Motswai (forgive me if my spelling is incorrect) who was our appointed guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and made our short visit a memorable experience.
The tented rooms are great, as was the food and the outdoor experiences. highly recommended, but for at least two nights, one is too short.

Room tip: They're all great.

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights at Gunns Camp in the Okavango Delta region north of Maun, Botswana where our host Gary and his more than competent team looked after all of our needs. Each day we had the option of a boat or Mokoro ride around the area, or a hike ink one of the nearby islands. The guides were dedicated to us during our stay and were most informative, able to cover wildlife, birdlife and nature with anecdotal information also thrown in. The food is great and there is a huge variety in the dishes that are served each day.
If we have the opportunity we will certainly visit Gunns again

Room tip: The accommodation is all luxury tented rooms and every room is a good room. Watch for the elephant and hippo's that visit at night!

From the moment we arrived at Gunn's we knew we were in for a once in a lifetime experience. Dudu, the Camp Manager checked us in swiftly and made us feel at home.

To say our guides (Dicks & Rogers) were knowledgeable would be a huge understatement. The wealth of knowledge they imparted to us on the boat safari, Mokoro trips and bush walks were only matched by their passion for what they do.

The tented accommodation feels very luxurious and the camp itself is redefining what it means to be “low impact” and eco-friendly. Guests to this area should be happy to forego two showers a day in favour of the environment.

Arrival at the short airstrip by charter was the beginning of the adventure at Gunn's Camp. We were sung into the camp by four members of the staff. They carried our bags off to the tents we were to stay in. We moved off to lunch in the main lodge. It was a walk across the wetlands to the two story lodge with the view of Chief's Island and a main waterway in the Okavango delta. Food was delicious and continued to be well done throughout our stay. The lodge was truly all inclusive, water, drinks food excursions. The guides were knowledgeable and we were fortunate that they joined us for meals and evening discussions which continued providing insights into the wildlife, ecology, and people of the delta. The tented camp included six tents each of which would accommodate two people in generous spaces overlooking the delta waters. Birds were abundant, elephants and hippos wandered through the camp, Chief's Island had easily viewable impala, reedbuck, kudu, zebras, all the expected and few extras we could see on nature walks as part of the excursions. The bath was split having the large tub and a refreshing shower in the open air behind a high privacy wall. The sinks in all the rooms were delightful water holes with animals around them. Well run, restful, rich - worth a visit a delightful place!

Room tip: The room nearest to the camp has a ramp for those less able to walk or do stairs. The lodge also has a significant ramp for the same purpose.
