Being in a National Park means you have to stay on the roads, so unlike Khwai River, we were unable to get up close and personal in our vehicles. Although we did have some close sightings, being bound to the road does make some difference. Still an overall wonderful experience--and you almost can't go to Botswana and not experience Chobe!. And Debby does do a great job of taking care of you. Great food, and service. Loved the outdoor showers. Our porch looked right out over the channel, so lots of elephants to watch. Air-conditioning and large rooms/bathrooms a lovely luxury in the bush. As stated in other reviews on the Orient Express properties, lots of Big $ and other wildlife, but no Rhinos, so plan accordingly. For us personally, we wouldn't have missed any of the O-E camps!

Room Tip: Don't know that it matters, our tent was lovely: spacious, air-conditioned, loved the out-door shower.

I visited this camp with my family, spent 4 perfect days. We have traveled to many safari destinations and this ranks as one of the best. Just the right mixture of luxury and casual atmosphere. Debby was the relief manager and needs to be singled out. She was really fabulous. Food was good, game drives were always exciting and the accommodation was way better than expected. Can't wait to return.

We stayed at this camp for 3 nights in September 2012 and I must say that the camp provided the perfect blend of the luxury and game viewing.
The camp is permanent on the savuti channel and all tents are overlooking this channel. Each tent has a private sit out ,thereby, enabling one to view the herds of elephants, impalas and gazelles drinking water from the channel at various times of the day.We could hear lions roar from our rooms. We would also often see elephants cross the channel ,even in the dark.
Rooms are chic and luxurious with air conditioning. The bath area is stylishly done and the outside shower is something surely to look forward to.There is intercom in the rooms . Unfortunately, internet connection was down during the days we were there ,and the only contact that the camp had with the outside world was on radio.
Staff is extremely polite and friendly, particularly Ketsho and OT and skindog. Debbie and Phet,we really appreciate your hospitality and the willingness to walk that extra mile to make us feel comfortable. Debbie -thanks a lot for your help with the satellite phone, despite some initial hitches.
Food is perfect , however, some variety in the type of dishes would be good.Fruit salad and cheese platter can be tiring after a while . However, I must make a mention here that, Debbie made sure that our dietary preferences were well taken care of and would often check with us as,with every other guest in the camp ,as to whether we were ok with the food.
Game drives are fantastic . The rangers have good knowledge of local wildlife and flora and fauna. Our guide , Rogers, was particularly very good and gave us lot of information on birds . In addition to viewing Leopards, Hyena, Jackal,Lions,Elephants, Buffalos and numerous birds, thanks to Rogers, we were also very lucky to spot a pack of african wild dogs resting under a bush .
Overall, an excellent stay worth the price .

I cannot sufficiently describe how beautiful this camp is. All the rooms and the dining area over-look what was once a dried up river and what is now a beautiful lush flow of water attracting all kinds of wildlife.

We spotted so many elephants and various small buck over our stay there. Made even better by the fact that the water was shallow enough for them all to jump in and have a swim. Its animal viewing at its finest. We sadly arrived a day too late for a cheetah sighting right on the river bed. A child had spotted him from the deck on his tent and watched in awe as the cheetah swiped a fish out of the water and proceeded to eat it right on the banks of the river. Simply delightful!

The tents were exactly as pictured. Luxurious and well-maintained, we could not have asked for more.

Our day trips out were wonderful. The guides being very informative. The best part was that each trip was private for you and your party. So my family had its own vehicle and guide which meant that we could stay out later or come in earlier depending on our feelings on that day. The guide was awesome and we even tracked lions and cheetahs for one afternoon which was lots of fun.

The safaris were absolutely beautiful. I live in South Africa but Botswana has a completely different feeling and surrounding. We have never seen so many elephants and bird life! Absolutely breath-taking.

There is no end to the wonderful things I could say about the staff at Orient-Express. They run truly magnificent lodges and only local people are employed there to make the experience all the more authentic. Everyone speaks beautiful english so there is no worries about a language barrier either.

Lastly something must be said about the pilots who fly the planes from one camp to the next. They do an excellent job! The flights felt safe and quick and their landings were superb given that they were landing on sand and not tarmac. It simply added to the fun!

We stayed at this camp for 3 nights. We had the most wonderful stay, mainly thanks to our guide called Mighty. HIs knowledge of the area and the animals was nothing short of incredible. We were able to see a leopard with two cubs and a lion walking through the marshes along with SO much more.

The setting of the camp is beautiful, great views from the tent terrace of elephants walking by! The 'tents' (I use that loosely!) are luxurious.

Had a wonderful time with memories for a lifetime. If you are thinking about a safari - this is the place to come.

Room Tip: Room 8 is the furthest away from the main areas and offers excellent views.
