Almost all the reviews have heralded this place. We found the old adage of location, location, location that couldn't be beat. One has choices to view the animals from boats and vehicles. Three times a day. Stay three days or more and they offer full or half day trips further away from lodge. From the boats, we saw Leopard, lionesses stalking and attacking warthogs, elephants, crocs, hippos, water buffalo, monitors, eagles, baboons, kudu, impala, zebra, jackal, giraffe, loads of birds - everything except hyenas. .

They began women-only guides years ago and have begun to spread the concept to the other 9 properties in the group. Chobe Safari Lodge is across the river in Namibia - not in the park. They run electric boats and almost all electric fleet of tracking vehicles. they compost, recycle, and limit their footprint. Take the ECO tour to see how deep their commitment reaches.

Facilities are very well maintained. Although full most times, one doesn't feel overrun with people at any time. We never had more than 6 in a ground vehicle or 8 in boats. Most trips were either 5 or six people.

The food and wine were abundant and quite good. Wait staff were attentive; in fact, all staff at the lodge were excellent.

tip: there is a 20 kilo weight restriction to checked luggage and 8 kilo to carry on as the jets are smaller size. Kasane is a one short runway. You could also fly in and out of Victoria falls airport about 50 minutes away from Kasane.

This was our first of three lodges in Botswana, and we had a great time. The women guides here are wonderful, and our guide KG was great. We saw many elephants of course, but also lions, zebra, cape buffalo, giraffes, hippos, impala, lechwe, kudu, baboons, warthogs, crocodiles, not to mention many birds. Chobe Game Lodge is a little pricey, but it is worth every single dollar. The dining staff is also great, especially Leinah who tolerated our poor attempts to learn Tswana.

Dear KenStone1227,

Thank you for your review and kind words.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your time at Chobe Game Lodge. We are very fortunate to have such an incredible location along the Chobe River and inside the National Park, which always translates to unrivalled experiences of what this beautiful area has to offer. It sounds like you had some fantastic sightings while at the lodge!
Your efforts to learn Setswana were much appreciated and Lena and the rest of the team will be ready for your return and start of the next round of lessons!

From the entire Chobe Game Lodge team - Tsamaya Sentle!

this hotel covers all needs. rooms are spacious, but sadly due to the monkeys the sliding doors are not to be used - if they are left open for a very short time, the monkeys will be inside to steal sugar - great breakfast and dinner buffet.
I did not en joy the sunrise game drive - there were so many vehicles travelling at speed, radio communication was load and intrusive. I would not recommend it to anyone who is looking for a real game viewing experience.

The lodge is situated in the Park which gave you an advantage to viewing game before outside operators. The games drives were exciting. The cruises on Chobe River gave you a different observation of the animals, reptiles, etc. The Lodge varied their dining locations within the Lodge to make it a more special experience.

We started our nine day safari with a 2 night stay at Chobe Lodge. We were delighted with the accommodation, the wonderful people who made our stay so memorable and, of course, the amazing wildlife. We continued our fantastic African adventure with 2 night stays at Savute Safari Lodge, Camp Okavango and Camp Xakanaxa. The whole experience went beyond our wildest expectations and was a holiday of a lifetime. Botswana is a truly magical place,
