“The best!”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

17 - 20th July 2013 Barry & I had an amazing time. Staff are friendly, courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. Accommodation lovely - everything is included (drinks, meals, river cruises, game drives & laundry). Game drives fantastic - saw the elusive leopard - suffocating a male impala, lioness, lion, elephant, giraffe, numerous antelope including the Roan, bird life in abundance and so many more animals. We will return. If there is anything better on offer we don't know where it is - a memorable time.

Room Tip: All room locations are wonderful.

My wife and I stopped at the Chobe Game Lodge for two nights during our honeymoon which also included stops at Victoria Falls and a week in the Seychelles. This was my favorite stop on the trip. The staff were very fun loving, professional, and greeted us by name at every opportunity. They even seemed to wink at us from time to time ;) The food was very good, we were fed three meals per day and we were even treated to our own honeymoon dinner one night! We loved the game viewing - our guide Lynn was excellent. We saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, lionesses attending to their cubs, a leopard jumping out of a tree, impala, warthogs, skunks, lizards, snakes, and excellent birding to boot. I would love to come back here. The rooms were so-so compared to our other destinations but everything else was great. Look forward to coming back here some day.

We stayed three nights here and has a wonderful time! The staff is top notch and the accommodations are amazing. The game drives were informative and exciting. Our guide, Maude, did a fantastic job in locating many animals and giving us interesting facts about them, and also the plant life along the way. The food was incredible and we looked forward to every meal! The river safaris were so beautiful and peaceful, plus we got to see many animals from a different point of view along with some gorgeous sunsets! We wanted for nothing and would highly recommend this lodge to anyone seeking a truly unique experience.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms at Chobe!

Chobe game lodge is a very good lodge with very friendly staff and a personal touch that makes your stay very enjoyable! The guides are very skilled, knowledgable and friendly.
They sure know their trade. Actually the food was too excellent. It makes you gain too many kilos! Really enjoyable are the boattrips. In this way you experience pure nature in a very different way.

Room Tip: Any room is OK

It's tempting to write a novel, but no god for the reader.
Really I couldn't find a flaw at this place... The staff was amazing!! Maggie, Gao (our Guide), the wait staff, our housekeepers... Once they took our laundry after hours to the laundromat, because we had stupidly left the Do Not Disturb sign on our door that day! Vincent.. the GM.. Cathy and Kerotse. All these people just embraced us and felt like a giant hug... especially Maggie. Let me tell you about our guide - Gao (pronounced How). She spotted every animal one could possibly want to see... and plenty of them. Do not go to Chobe if you are looking to see a ga-zillion male lions... It may not happen. And you won't see a rhino, either - but you won't see one very many other places either. You will see leopard. I saw one eating its kill, and another one jump 10-12 feet staight vertically in the air from one place in a tree to a higher point.
The food at this place is heaven. The chefs are terrific. I, who don't normally eat dessert, ate one at least twice a day. Yummy! Behind every corner there is someone to help you do whatever you need done. And s/he is smiling genuinely. That's the key... there is a genuiness about the place which was amazing. There was always something going on there. River cruises, safaris, whatever you wanted... The property itself is gorgeous, inside and out, and the photo on the front of this site is misleading. In no way does it look like Fort Knox. It is very open and airy, and the rooms are quite nice. My family of 5 loved every minute of our three-day stay at this lodge. Thank you to all who work there!!!!!

Room Tip: We had rooms close to the lobby which I really liked because I was always forgetting something that...

This was our first stop on a recent trip to Botswana and Zambia. We stayed three nights here and we were floored! This resort and gaming area is amazing in so many ways.

Our Chobe guides picked us up at the Botswana/ Zambia border and, on the way into the park and to the resort, they stopped so we could see elephants, giraffes, impala - some of which were crossing our path. What a way to kick off the trip!

We arrived a little later than expected but Mightye met us at the entrance and said she'd check us in quickly so we could be on our way. They delayed some of the check in instructions so they could get us out for a game drive, which was so appreciated. The afternoon drives had already gone out but they sent us out in another vehicle to meet up with our assigned guide. The first night we saw two lions - one male, one female, guarding a baby elephant they had killed so the vultures wouldn't swoop in and take their food. We saw more elephants, giraffes, impala, kudu, buffalo, and even a female leopard resting in a tree.

Room: We booked a regular room but got upgraded to a beautiful suite perched on the second floor at the end of the resort. The room was spacious and gorgeous with a separate living area, snacks they left us and a stocked mini fridge with drinks. Our patio was the best feature. It had a private plunge pool and plenty of deck chairs. We used this area to nap in the afternoon and watch the water and a few animals that had come up into the resort.

the bed was a large king and was very comfortable. They also provide bug lotion, slippers and robes in the room, which was a nice touch. Just a few of those comforts of home that you can't pack overseas. The water pressure was very nice and there was plenty of hot water. the rooms here are enclosed and you have AC, though we didn't need it because it got pretty chilly at night because we went in wintertime. They came in twice a day and replaced towels and also had turndown service at night.

Food: We never had a bad meal. They provide a snack before the early morning game drive and then a full breakfast upon your return. Lunch and dinner were both great and there was plenty of variety.

game drives: They go out in the morning and afternoon. we also had two river cruises: one in the morning, one in the afternoon, so that we saw everything down by the water. this is a great way to watch the elephants come down to drink or see the hippos. We were staying 3 nights, so they arranged a 6-hour morning drive for us that included breakfast in the bush. It was a lot of fun to eat out by the water. They don't mess around either: each game drive includes a stop for beverages with real glasses and china! they have thought of everything. They make sure you get to see plenty of the animals and will make sure you get the pictures you want. This part of Chobe is rich with wildlife, most likely due to the Chobe River providing plenty of water. Another great thing about the Chobe National Park is that the animals are very protected against poachers, so they don't fear people.

Bar: The bar area is very nice and spacious enough for this resort. There usually were only a couple of people in it anytime we went in. They have several white wines to choose from both at the bar and in the dining area. They even serve champagne out on the viewing deck. I'm not sure of the times they have someone staffed out there, but there was someone there around lunck and in the afternoon when we went down to watch the wildlife in the water.

Gift shop: Well-stocked with things you need and souvenirs. We underestimated how chilly it would be for the morning game drives and bought fleece jackets that helped a lot. The prices really aren't that bad, either.

Laundry, put it on your bed before leaving for the morning game drive and y ou'll have it back the same day. This was a wonderful amenity because we were so limited in what we could pack. Laundry comes back clean, folded and fresh.

Overall, this resort is gorgeous and nicely maintained. They truly have thought of everything and it's these little details and the fabulous customer service that make this lodge stand out.
