“A restaurant with a beautiful view and exceptiional service”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

This was our first time visiting Captree State Park and we had no intention of having a full meal. We were there for salads and deserts. Most of restaurants of this class, they would have told us to go elsewhere. Not this place. Melissa our waitress took as good care of us as if were were each buying a 75 dollar meal. The service was excellent. Of course the views are what makes this so special too. The restaurant is on the second floor and there are windows looking out over the captree fleet of fishing boats and as you are eating or socializing with friends and family you can peer out the windows and view the boats coming in and out. I would highly recommend this restaurant as a great experience for all

“reasonable food....view is worth the trip”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

every table has a window view (2nd floor) either east/north or west.
standard seafood fare is offered at reasonable prices, clam chowder has plenty of clams,
coconut shrimp is very tasty, steamers and muscles were fine too.
my only minus was ,the clams casino, the necks used were too small, it needs
to be prepared with the next larger size. the stuffed flounder was excellent, no complaint
with portion either. service was on par for this kind of restaurant if not better
then i expected. if you want the water view and the smell of the ocean,
then this place is for you and give it a plus for sunset dining

“just one little hiccup”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

You have to pay $8 to enter the park before you can even go to this restaurant, that's the only drawback. Service is cheerful, setting is delightful and the food is really, really good at moderate prices. We enjoyed the lobster roll which was prepared with lots of fresh herbs (dill, scallion). The decor could use a designer's touch but the view makes up for what's lacking indoors. We'll be bringing out of town company! (Parking is free on weekdays in the off season, and for seniors over 62.)

“Good food, not so good service”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

Stopped in for some apps and cocktails. Didn't know much about the restaurant before hand but was in the area and figured I would give it a try. The atmosphere is very casual, great view of Captree State Park Park. Was expecting much so I was pleasantly surprised with the food. Probably the best Calamari I have had in a while, very good mussels as well. Although I was very happy with food, the service was not very good. Member of staff came over to apologize explaining that some staff called in sick that morning. This is not your typical restaurant but would recommend if you are in the area and want to grab a quick bite and a few cocktails.

“Captree Cove: A Hidden Gem”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

I brought the whole family to Captree Cove to celebrate my wife's birthday. There were 6 adults,
three children ages 2 to 12 and twin infants. They had plenty of room to accommodate us. The restaurant is located at Captree Park near the Charter/Party Boat fleet. The restaurant is upstairs and the large windows lining three sides of the dining room offer views of the Captree State Park, the waterways and the fleet. The menu is varied and they offer daily specials. The prices are moderate to high. For appetizers, we had the Lobster Bisque, PEI Mussels, Steamers, Shrimp Cocktail and Buffalo Calamari. All were very good. My choice for the main entree was the Pecan Crusted Tilapia with a raspberry sauce, rice pilaf and vegetables. I enjoyed it. Others in the family tried the Chicken Parmigiana, the Crabmeat Stuffed Flounder and the Broiled Atlantic Salmon (we asked for Cajun style and it was prepared it that way). The wait staff was very helpful and efficient. I highly recommend the Captree Cove restaurant for an enjoyable day out.
