Our two nights at Whalesong were just perfect. The hospitality out of this world and friendliness of the hosts and staff we were were greeted with made us feel very welcome from the start. From the complimentary drinks for our friends from a neighbouring guest house to the comfort of the living room with the fire place to the amazing breakfast on the patio overlooking the bay with whales playing, everything was just perfect. Highly recommended !!

Decided to overnight on our way home from our flower tour. Phoned just before arriving in Hermanus and were extremely lucky to get a room. Room was perfect - hosts and staff were friendly and helpful, view over the ocean was breathtaking and the whales were lined up a stones throw away......what more could one ask for! Breakfast was delicious and much too generous! Have no hesitation in highly recommending this establishment.

Room Tip: All rooms have private balcony with ocean view.

My husband and I spent three nights at Whalesong in the gorgeous honeymoon suite as part of our first anniversary trip to South Africa in July. Our transport dropped us off right before sunset. I was immediately stunned when we walked into the lovely B&B and saw the fantastic view from the porch. We were offered some sparkling wine from the honesty bar and within moments had our first sighting of southern right and humpback whales! The views from the honeymoon suite were just as breathtaking. The room was beautiful and so romantic.

We went shark cage diving on our second day. The cage diving company picked us up around 7am and it was about a 15 minute drive. Most of the people in our shuttle got picked up in Cape Town 2-3 hours earlier. They were quite jealous of our short ride! After our incredible shark diving experience, we decided to walk home along the cliffs. Whalesong's location was perfect!

Our hosts Stanley and Lainy were so welcoming and friendly! Breakfasts were delicious. For dinner, they booked us at a great little restaurant within walking distance. I would highly recommend staying at Whalesong, especially if you are interested in marine life, good wine, and amazing sunsets!

If you are looking for a gorgeous spot overlooking a beautiful bay where you can watch whales cavorting in front of you, enjoy the sun and relax then this is for you. You cannot fail to instantly relax and enjoy the peace that Whalesong has to offer. Facilities, food, hosts and attention to detail all exquisite!! We had a great 2 nights there and would love to go back to do some walking and exploring of the local area. I'm tempted not to tell anyone about it so it all stays so peaceful (worth the 30 minute drive after Hermanus!).

Tripadvisor lead us to Whalesong it was such a good choice. The location was spot on, the broad deck and the comfy chairs are perfect for whale watching. The hosts are exactly what hosts should be, accommodating, thoughtful, full of chat and good advice yet able to give you space if you want it. One thing we appreciated was the professionalism and willingness of the staff. The rooms were comfortable and spotless. The communal areas just invited you to sit and relax. I whole-heartedly agree with the all the other positive reviews I see here.
