Gideon, Gill and Nico know exactly how to host. Warm, friendly, and professional. The rooms are lovely with attention to small details. The breakfasts are superb. The whales evaded us, but the view is just stunning. We spent two hours over breakfast in the warm conservatory looking at the wild ocean - very memorable and a beautiful view!

Having just left Cape Town on our tour along the Garden Route we spent two nights at Cliff Lodge. "Amazing". Having just spent three nights in one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, in Camps Bay, I thought it would be difficult to live up to the standard! Wrong! Gideon and Gill have got an experience not too be missed by anybody visiting S Africa. Sitting at breakfast watching Dolphins and Whales was just an amazing experience. Thanks to Gideon and Nico the information we received and the restaurants we visited were top notch. However the most important thing about our stay was Gideon's attention to detail in the accommodation, it was out of this world. My wife and I are in the trade and we both agree that it would be very difficult for us to live up to this standard of service! Well done Gideon, I take my hat off to you and your team!

Room Tip: We were in the North room where we could watch the sea life from our bed!

Thanks for the great hospitality - we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated all the help and suggestions on what to do in the area. The restaurant recommendations and bookings were really appreciated and were fantastic. We came to Cliff Lodge after a friend of ours stayed with you a few years ago and recommended you, and you certainly didn't disappoint.

One of the most beautiful places i've ever been. Everything is so lovely and cozy there. Scenic views, whale watching on the terrace while having a delicious breakfast with freshly pressed juice and a great cappuccino and the staff, who took care of our every need makes it a very relaxing stay. We definitly want to come back.

We did our research on Trip Advisor and chose Cliff Lodge and we chose really well !

The photos don't do it justice, right on the sea its a great location to stay at and also for travelling out from. The rooms are all really nice and very well appointed, contemporary and classy. We were in the North room and it was superb, lovely bedroom and ensuite, private balcony and views to die for of the awesome seas. There is lovely communal lounge with conservatory overlooking the seas below. The kitchen is stacked with wine/beer/snacks/teas etc for your use whenever you fancy and operates on an honesty bar policy which was of course never abused !

One of the best things was in fact the owner Gideon. What a great guy ! He couldn't have been more helpful or considerate and his team of staff were also fantastic, so friendly. The whole place operates superbly. I did see reference on TA to them serving an amazing breakfast and thought no more of this until we had it ! Best breakfast I have had away from home, anywhere !
A full English with top quality ingredients, Cereals, yoghurts, toasts, jams even marmite! Never rushed and if you wanted to talk Gideon would give you his opinions on places to go and what to do. This was invaluable and very much appreciated. He even re-booked our whale watching trip with Dyer Island Cruises after we had left so we could return to do this when the weather was better as it is changeable at this time of year.

Our only regret is we didn't stay longer than the two days we planned. Next time longer and cant wait to return. We would highly recommend this lovely place and its delightful owners and staff.

Good Luck to them all in the future
Regards Don

Room Tip: The honeymoon suite which is huge has an amazing balcony but our North room was great too.

Perfect Lodge, very friendly welcome, perfect service, wonderful cappucino and VIP treatment. Gideon and his crew did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. In spite of heavy rainfalls and stormy weather we could even make some interesting excursions because of Gideon's tipps, where to go and what to see. What do you want more?
