Klein Boschkloof is a working citrus farm so our Cape Dutch cottage … a converted wagon house … is surrounded by orange trees. There is a profusion of grape arbours, heavy with fruit and we are to discover that other produce from the farm appears free of charge in the cottage: today, a supply of grenadillas.
They have done a splendid job of renovating the 250 year old building, using original beams and wood wherever possible and keeping the white-washed, thatched exteriors. The walls are 1/2 metre thick and windows are small to keep out the blazing summer heat. Inside, the cottage is well-equipped and tastefully decorated. With the small but oh-so-inviting pool, this is definitely a find!
