Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat

If you love nature, being spoilt beyond words and relaxation this is the place to be! We spend two nights there and could not find ANY fault with anything. The weather was just perfect. We went on a nature walk in the mountain, rock cliff, night game drive and our Ranger (Roman) was just sharing all his knowledge with us which was the best. We didn't want to go home after this most outstanding experience and in our hearts we just wanted to stay there. The staff was extremely beyond friendly and made us feel so important and welcome and looked after us without being intrusive. We had the finest dining experience and preparation was of the highest standards. I would highly recommend Bushmans Kloof especially for couples that would like to get away from a rushed lifestyle and wanting to spend quality time with their loved one.

Room Tip: Their River luxury rooms are fantastic.

We spent three nights in this fabulous place. I cant fault anything about it. Even the weather was perfect. The staff were wonderful and the food amazing. We walked, rowed on the dam, cycled, went on game drives and visited rock art and still had time to relax and connect with nature. We arrived feeling tired and left feeling healthy and energised.

Room Tip: All rooms are of a very good quality. Depends on how much time you want to spend in your room. We...

Bushmans Kloof is a wonderful, relaxing place to stay. The excellent friendly, staff catered for our every wish and were interested, friendly and helpful without ever being intrusive. The food was a particular highlight of our stay and whatever we ate or drank was a particular delight to our palates. The accommodation is the height of luxury and one truly feels pampered while staying there. The only negative is that it takes so long to get there but that just makes the experience all the more worthwhile. I would highly recommend Bushmans Kloof especially for couples hoping to get away from the hustle and bustle and wanting to connect with each other.

Room Tip: Luxury accommodation is exactly that and one is not even aware that their might be other guests arou...

As we drove to the retreat from Cape Town (a little over 3 hours), the scenery was spectacular, all the way. Over mountains and through passes, pastoral land either side then peaking mountain tops... when you arrive there, you then have a further 10 minutes along the driveway to the lodge. But it is worth it! You are met by the manager who welcomes you with a cool drink and then shows the retreat while the staff arrange for your luggage to be taken from the car to the suite. The days here are easy going, with as much as you want, such as visiting ancient rock art sites, great mountain hikes, fly fishing, game drive (no predators), archery, and enjoying the beautiful spa! The rooms are what you expect to be, based in this being a farmhouse originally, With relics of the past all through the retreat. The 2 restaurants serve some fne food, with Breakfast rolling into Lunch, which rolls into High Tea and then finally dinner! They have many areas to serve the meals, so you dont get bored...All in all, this is a great place to add 3 nights to for your African Experience.

Room Tip: They have 2 top suites, choose them.

We stayed at this beautiful lodge nestled in the Cedarberg Mountains, from the warm reception and unbelievable food and the most stylish homely riverside suite it was pure heaven. The staff could not have been more helpful, mother set up a private dinner in the area where one has lunch with our own waiter and fireplace. This was my husbands 60th birthday. The game drives were fascinating.

Room Tip: Try get the river suite it is right at the end no people walking past and has its own swimming pool

Let's keep this simple! In a word.....Superb!! From the time you drive up to Reception to be met as you get out of your car and greeted and introduced to your guide for the stay, to the way your car is taken away to be washed and your luggage taken to your room, to the showing around of the complex, to the beautiful high-tea held every afternoon, the sumptuous dinners, the lovely breakfasts and yummy lunches, the informative game and bushman-painting drives, the surrounding natural beauty.....the list just goes on and on. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly and efficient staff - all their guests are addressed by their first names. Just a wonderful retreat to rejuvenate the soul. It was our first visit and certainly won't be our last.

Room Tip: Rock Pool 1 is a suite with a sepearte longe with TV & fireplace Rock Pool 2 is a very large ro...

This is a retreat experience that simply cannot be missed - peace, tranquility, meandering waters, easy walks and a sense of wilderness only a few hours from Cape Town. Hospitality was just right - neither too close or too far away. Chef did a great job. Well done to James and his team.

Room Tip: Riverside Suite is best! Private pool and river!
