“Bushmans Kloof a Must!”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

If you want to forget about you cellphone, park your vehicle and enjoy nature in luxury with excellent service, this is the place for you! If you dont have a venue for your 31 Dec 2013 yet this is the place. Our 31 Dec 2012 was just awesome! The Bushmans Kloof team made one of the best ever under the open star skies, the moon rising overlooking the mountains on a deck. The small stalls was so creative from where you may collect different cuisine from seafood to local South African food as much as you wanted. What was also great was the short concert from local children and chef Floris Smith also showed his gumboot talent. The cuisine from chef Floris kitchen was divine, loved the fish and chips. We had an Extraodinary Dining experience at Kadoro that was unforgetable. The rooms was excellent. The pools was different from the usual, bringing the surroundings of nature closer. The game drives and Bushman drawings a great experience. The natural surroundings different then any other I have seen.

Room Tip: For a family the Livine room was great

We could not have asked for a more relaxing weekend. The food was outstanding, with the dinner at Embers a definite highlight. We spent many hours at the pool overlooking the beautiful mountains and enjoying the peace and tranquility. While there are many activities on offer, it is really up to you to decide how much (or little) you want to do. We really enjoyed the Mountain Trail and the late breakfasts! An oasis of ultimate luxury and pampering. Thanks to Floris and his wonderfully attentive team for an unforgettable experience.

My husband and I visited as a last break before our baby arrived and could not have been more spoilt. This is a magical spot - a real little oasis. The food is excellent and the activities are great. We particularly liked having a dedicated guide who assisted us with what we wanted, rather than just being lumped in a vehicle with everyone else. We also noted that the standard of the guides was far higher than we have had at any other luxury game lodges. We had several wonderful walks on the property, saw a large family of delightful bat-eared foxes on our night drive and I thought the spa was wonderful - one of the best massages I have had. We visited in April and had lovely weather

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bushmans Kloof (December 2012). I suppose what impacted us a lot were the numerous personal touches and offers to help that we all felt throughout our stay. It was clear they really understood us well and wanted to make our stay absolutely fabulous. All the staff - the gardeners, waiters, receptionists, guides, chefs, managers etc - were incredibly professional, knowledgeable and helpful, yet not stiff and too formal, making us feel comfortable, relaxed and well looked after. The quality of the food was very good. The gargantuan room's decor was stunning. And of course the scenery is stunning too - especially as you relax beside a stunning infinity pool. The only little niggle I had was that the quantity of the continental breakfast spread was much too small - I expect a far broader continental spread at this level of service; it all tasted great but there needed to be much more of it. If you're looking for a break away from it all yet with outstanding service, then I highly recommend Bushmans Kloof.

Room Tip: Our two rooms (I think they were Cedar Falls 1 and 2) were tucked away to the left of the main hotel...

Over the Christmas period, and on a trip to SA from Australia, we were not prepared us for how lovely "Bushmans" was. We were motivated to stay an extra day, and luckily we could be accomodated. The contrast of dry, hot, rocky hills, and the cool, green seamless experience of Bushmans was a real treat. Every staff member was happy and at ease (why wouldnt they be) with us and all our demands. Great care was taken to focus on the details of every day luxury. Cannot recommend it enough, was the highlight of our trip. Will be back again and again.

Room Tip: Paterson Lodge the only way to go.

We concur with the recent reviews. Outstanding experience. Great location and a first class team. The concept of a "save" wilderness and game ressort is very compelling because it allows a variety of activities like hiking, biking, canoeing etc. Very knowledgable and friendly ranger for the game drives and bushman´s painting excursions. Spent 3 days with family and friends.
