This Lodge is at first sight beautiful. Once one had a closer look, however... Door-handles were loose on 2 doors. Ceilings in Hotel were flaky and looked neglected. Shower did not drain well.

We stayed at the Clanwilliam Lodge for a long weekend, with our family. What wonderful experience we had. We relaced at the pool beds, and what was super is that there were NO day visitors around the pool, only in house guests is allowed. At last only relaxing. Our room were cleaned every moring & every night our beds were turndown. The staff were alway friendly, with children it can get hetic, but still our requests were done. Thank You to the management & staff. Only the restaurant does not compliment the Lodge. The management needs some people skills, and the food is not worth the money. Breakfast is over charged.
The Lodge will see us for sure in the future.!!

We were recently invited to a birthday weekend in Clanwilliam where we stayed at the Clanwilliam Lodge - perfectly located on the outskirts of town, and close to the dam. It was amazing! The rooms and interiors are spacious and modern and the overall feel is that of a large villa in Italy. The pool and surrounds are unexpectedly gorgeous and the kids (and their parents) loved the relaxed feel of the property. The staff was friendly and nothing was too much effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We are already planning our next trip back to the Lodge....

On a recent weekend get-away, my wife, teenage daughter, my daughter's friend and I booked into the Clanwilliam Lodge! The staff were more than accomodating and we were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room....more than adequate, clean and very nicely furnished! After spending long days on the dam it was an absolute pleasure to head back to the lodge and plunge into that beautifull swimming pool! We only had one dinner at the Lodge and I must admit.....the food was great!! In fact, we had such a great time we are heading back within the next 2/3 weeks time with friends! I guess the only complaint we had was ''how hot does it get in Clanwilliam'' and that is no fault of the lodge!!!

My wife and I, along with 2 young girls spent the weekend at the Clanwilliam Lodge whilst looking at property on the dam. The staff were more than accommodating, my girls loved the pool and trampoline in the garden, and my wife could relax on one of many day beds within sight of the pool - after her spa treatments which she raved about. Thanks to all for an unexpected little gem - you will see us again!

Misleading photo publicity for a mismanaged hotel that is way below par.
Many of the cyclists on our recent 2 night stay were sharing twin rooms and the bathrooms and bedrooms were open plan, so no toilet door or any privacy. Our room had old windows facing a noisy courtyard above the bar and staff noise carried on all night. Rooms were smelly and musty.
The dinner on the night of arrival was canteen buffet style with no sense of presentation or quality. Cold vegetables, mushy pasta and salad presented once most people had eaten.
Breakfast the next morning was basic to say the least. Staff were disinterested and there was no evidence of a manager to deal with our concerns. I regret that I didn't look at Tripadvisior before staying there.

Its exciting times at Clanwilliam Lodge.

The Palms Restaurant and Bar has been taken over by new owners, Arnold and Isabel Otto. Be sure to visit the 'new' resaurant!

In the rooms, we have installed some new glass walls in our showers, which is great for keeping the bathrooms a bit drier, and are in the process of getting new curtains.

We has some staff training done as well, to be able to give you, our very valuable guest, the best possible service.

Also don't forget about our wonderful garden and swimming pool, epsecially with the hot summer months coming up, and our Beauty salon.

We are continuing to address complaints and rectify growing pains. Your feedback is much appreciated and we would like to invite you on your next visit to report your concerns to reception during your stay and not after your departure so that we can insure you have a pleasant stay.
