The decor is amazing. Even a visit to the loo is essential. The collection of bric a brac must have taken years to put together. The karoo pie was delicious. Highly recommended.

American friends joined us for a beer on Sunday morning of a long weekend. What a vibe. Sit inside the crowded and pleasantly noisy restaurant or outside on the porch or under umbrellas watching the new bikers arrive. Interesting old paraphernalia and odds and ends make for an eclectic mix. An old caravan adorns the courtyard that sells gorgeously decadent old fashioned milk shakes. The owner is a corporate mover and shaker but a die-hard biker chick and this restaurant had always been her dream. Bikers love the restaurant as do families and couples. Well worth a visit.

Drove through to Diesel & Creme from Bonnievale for lunch. Being a long weekend, we were fully prepared to wait for a table. We got there only to find the place in a state of absolute chaos. A very friendly lady who I assume was the manager apologised for the situation, which we fully understood. We ordered some shakes & a coke, sat at the bar & waited for a table. After roughly 30 minutes & seeing two tables being occupied by people who had just arrived without reservations, we decided to leave. The place clearly needs someone who can organise & put some decent systems in place. Apparently the milkshakes are pretty good but the whole experience left a bitter taste in my mouth.

After a long drive from Cape Town, this establishment was the first oasis. Even better was the fact that this was the no 1 eating place on Tripadvisor.

One has to see this place to believe it, it is an old workshop that has been turned into a restaurant with the old signs, fittings of petrol station memorabilia.

Being a public holiday the establishment was filled to capacity.

We managed to get a table quickly and good service, whilst a few around us did not seem to. A golden rule, politeness gets one far.

Our waiting time was acceptable for a busy venue. Maybe the waitrons could advise patrons of the waiting time and what were the quicker dishes to order when orders were being taken.

The food sounded amazing on the menu and looked great but tasted ok, especially the jack Daniels blue cheese burger which was disappointing. My wife loved her spicy chicken burgers. The kids burger was good.

But the milkshakes were out of this world!!!!! And could be a meal in itself.

The place was good value and the staff including the owner were very pleasant and tried their best.

If anything, try this place for the milkshakes

Amazing milkshakes! Oh my oh my! An the whole place reminds me an old American Western movie, its beautiful! The service really isn't too great, its rather indifferent. Other than that, its a lovely place and I'd love one of their milkshakes again.
