Due to a horrible experience finding a motel late at night the prior evening along I-40, I looked at four different hotels along this strip before finding this one. I arrived around 11:30pm and this place was the only one which you were actually able to walk inside the lobby area late at night. The others had the main areas partitioned off with ugly bullet proof windows you talk through. I had never encountered such an area of high security/distrust before and it was really a creepy little area late at night with only the motel operators and restaurants open. The dimly lit main street with the way out of date neon signs does not help. If I had to do over, I would have avoided this area and driven on further up I-40 but alas. The motel was kept up well, the guy running the place was nice and the room was nice. It was a basic, bottom floor room in the back and was like $45. It had a very comfy queen, ok tv, small fridge, microwave, coffee area and pretty nice bath and a super cute window you can open in front of a table for two. The best part is the water pressure. If have never, ever taken a shower like that before. I wasn't sure I would be able to stand the force of it but I did and I never felt better. The room seemed clean, smelled clean and with the window open the nice breeze was great. Slept very sound. Did not hear any neighbors. Had good cell signal and internet speed from the room too! Denny's right beside the place, however, we stopped further up the rode at a McDs and kept going. All the others, that were not obvious dumps, wanted double the price of this one and the quality looks basically the same for all these highway motels/hotels. If I ever stop here again, this is the place I'd check out first.
