Reviewed January 19, 2012

stayed the night 12/31/2011 rooms were clean, bed was very comfortable, plenty of hot water for showers, pictures on the web site are a accurate depiction of what to expect,we stayed in #10 at this time it has no garage but no big deal as you park right in front of the room,if you like to old buildings are history this is a cool place to stay, very easy to find as you leave i-40 just follow the route 66 signs,i will have no problem staying again.(watch out for the dogs they will wear you out petting them but that is okay)

My wife and I did a 2 week cross country drive from Raleigh, NC to San Francisco, CA with many stops along the way. Kevin and Nancy were wonderful hosts. We stayed there on the 24th and when we awoke had a wonderful little gift bag at our door, very thoughtful. We enjoyed our evening back in time. It was a clean and comfortable. If we pass that way again we will definitely stay there again.

The Blue Swallow Inn is a "Blast from the Past"! The furnishings are nostalgic and charming, but the the mattress brand new and top notch. The sheets were silky and comfortable. I'm so glad I found The Blue Swallow Motel on the web and booked our one-night stay. The owners were friendly and helpful and we got a good night's sleep for an unbelievably great price. I'd definitely visit here again!

My daughter and I stayed at the Blue Swallow on our drive to California. We stayed at the Four Seasons and other luxury hotels on the way, but the blue swallow was our favorite. The host was so enthusiastic about the motel and the pride of ownership was very evident in every detail. Support the Blue Swallow!

Room Tip: The two bedroom suite is nice!

We recently stayed two nights at the Blue Swallow and was pleasantly surprised and pleased with our visit. The rooms are decorated in 50's motif, but the beds are extremely comfortable. If you are a route 66 enthusiast or just want to take a trip down memory lane, this is the place to stay.

This is where it's at! Enough with the chain hotels...this place has all the nostalgia that you need to rejuvenate and head down the highway! It was our fist experience on "Route 66" and so happy we chose to include Blue Swallow to be part of it! We will be back!

We were traveling cross country on a tour of the southwest and this is by far my favorite of all the places we stayed at. First and foremost the owners are super friendly people who love owning this place. We had our dog with us and they accept dogs. It's a fully maintained and restored Route 66 treasure. The room was very nicely furnished with period touches, including a 1951 National Geographic, an old radio and a 1939 rotary phone. The room was super clean and heated well in the cold winter. I would highly recommend this for a travel experience. The owners live on site and also have two cute dogs and a white kitty. They made us coffee before we were back on the road and it was great to meet them and see that they are saving a historic part of Route 66 for future generations to enjoy.

Room Tip: Check out the old 1976 Pacer on site.
