We made a large loop from central Texas to Las Vegas and back again. In the 2800 miles of road, we stayed at a lot of hotels in New Mexico and Arizona. By far, Rocket Inn was the cleanest, cutest, friendliest place we found.
The beds were soft, A/C was cold, TV was perfect, and the room was very clean. The icing on the cake for us was the atmosphere.
The motel is a 1940-50's era motel, single story, with approximately 12 rooms. You park directly outside of your room's door. It was fantastically restored to what I believe would have been the motel's original glory. There was a stand-up shower (sorry, folks...no bathtub), and a small bathroom. The room itself had two queen beds and a dresser and nightstand. There was even a small table and chair to eat a pizza we picked up from Pizza Hut about a mile down the road. We all agreed that we felt as if we had stepped back in time to the fifties! It was so great!
Our room had the advantage of being the only room with a small, outdoor seating area directly outside of our door. It was adorable. It even had a wooden privacy fence around a portion of it to give you privacy.
The doors to each room are painted turquoise, and the brick of the motel is a dark red. It seems to really work together.
The office exhibits the owners' love of fifties memorabilia and is really cute. I didn't get to meet the owners as they were on vacation themselves, but the woman who worked the desk was very nice.
It was nice to help people who were trying to run a clean establishment by giving them our business. And it was nice to be treated like a human being, and not just a number like you are in a corporate hotel.
If we ever make it over to Truth or Consequences again, we will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Room number 12 has the cute little sitting area outside. You'll thank me later.

Friendly atmosphere in a chill historic hot springs town. Gotta check it out! Won't find much better than the Rocket Inn, run by an artistic woman from New York City. I love the way she decorated the place and made it work.

This place is so cool! It is an older motel that has been completely renovated and "hipsterized" ! Big, comfy bed, A/C, dogs welcomed, free coffee and danish-what more do you want. 5 minutes from mineral baths and great food. I can't wait to go back...
