“A charming and relaxing place for a getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2010

My husband and I went to T or C to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in Room 6, which was small, but very well kept, cozy and comfortable. We loved all of the little touches, like nice sheets and pretty light fixtures, that made it feel very classy. Everyone who worked there was very nice; when we first arrived, they gave us a tour of all of the hot springs, including the private pools, and they were happy to answer our questions. We enjoyed soaking in the pools several times - the public pools Saturday afternoon, a private soak in the Tierra Saturday night, and another dip in the public pools on Sunday morning. All of the pools were very enjoyable. We would highly recommend splurging for an hour in one of the private pools for a unique and romantic date. Aside from Riverbend, other noteworthy places in T or C were Bella Luca restaurant, Little Sprouts Market and Juice Bar (we had a fabulous breakfast there on our way out of town), and Black Cat Bookstore - a gem of a place, and this comes from two people who love to browse second-hand bookstores! We will definitely be returning to T or C for all of these places, but especially for another stay at Riverbend!

We were looking for a place to meet up with my daughter and boyfriend that live in ABQ. We have been to hotsprings before in other parts of the country and started looking online to see what NM had to offer. I came accross this place and thought we would try it. All along I thought it might not be as nice as the photos but it turned out to be a wonderful relaxing place to spend out early Christmas together. The owner and staff were great! The weather was beautiful. We all loved it! These little out of the way places are great and I hope it stays that way. We will go back for sure.

We have been going to Riverbend for about 5 years now and each time we see more improvements. We have never stayed in the rooms but love the casita. The grounds have been improved to provide a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The tubs are lovely and warm and you can watch ducks, birds and raptors in and around the river, right beside the pool! We make this a regular stop on our southwest trips.

My boyfriend and I love T or C because of it's proximity to Albuquerque (2 hrs), the quirkiness of the town and of course it's amazing hot mineral water just inches beneath the surface of the town. There are about a dozen hotels in T or C that provide a variety of mineral bath experiences, and we were excited to try out Riverbend for the first time. We were also happy to find out they allow dogs in their rooms because we always travel with our furry family :) Both the grounds at Riverbend and our room, the King suite #2, were really beautiful with exquisite attention to detail in the interior and exterior decor. It's a real "visual feast" of lights, colors and southwestern decor. We loved it. We soaked in the communal baths which were really, really nice and overlooked Turtleback Mountain. At night all you can see from the baths are the river and the mountain, free of any sign of civilization. We also soaked in Tierra, one of their private tubs and it was great. The staff at Riverbend are really nice and seem to go out of their way to accomodate you. Our only complaint was that the bed, although very comfortable and big, had one of those rubber "accident proof" mattress covers on it and made sleeping a sweaty, less then enjoyable experience. However, all in all, what you get for the price is more than enough.

We have stayed at the Riverbend at all diffrent time of the Year for many years. We believe it is the very best place to stay. You can soak as long as you like with friendly people and the view is great. Love being out door with the pools on the Rio Grand. The rooms are very clean and each time we go we see improvements inside and out. Lovely walk ways, flowers, murals painted, docks and the rooms decor upgraded. We will not stay anywhere else. It's wonderful, unique, and a little funky, also very clean and well run. We have met many people staying there from across american and different countries and they all say they like the Riverbend very much.

I rate Riverbend very highly. We were looking for a relaxing spot to unwind, hike, and bike and that's exactly what we got. Our accommodations(King 1) were a bargain. They were basic but more than adequate with all conveniences, including a full kitchen. The bed was super comfortable. The hot springs were wonderful - maybe the best in town. My only disappointment was that the public pools by the river were not a bit warmer (the hottest public tub is back from the river). However, the Rio private tub, right on the river, was pure magic and is highly recommended. The staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming and even invited us to a Thanksgiving Pot Luck! If we are ever back in T or C, you can be sure we will be staying at Riverbend.
P.S. The icing on the cake was the calls of the Grackles in the Bamboo at sunset and sunrise -deafening but wonderful! Thank you Riverbend; we are all relaxed and ready to take on the world again.
