Riverbend Hot Springs

We were pleased with our stay at Riverbend Hot Springs. The view of the river was outstanding. Our room was pleasant and the beds were comfortable. The staff were pleasant but management seemed a little rule bound. On more than one occasion we saw people that were just using the hot springs, not staying there, reminded that their hour was up when it was obvious that they were leaving. Also there seemed to be a proliferation of rules. We had no problems with the content of any of the rules, they just seemed a little overbearing. My advice is for them to just lighten up a little.

Room Tip: Rooms in the courtyard have the best access to the hot springs.

We arrived on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, and although the property was fully booked, with a number of walk-in visitors for the private pools, it never felt crowded.

The rooms are oh so clean, (we stayed in a Courtyard Suite, Room #1) and open onto a beautiful, lush sitting area; a short walk to both the private and public pools.

We were so relaxed by Sunday night, we cancelled our dinner reservation (have to catch the little Italian place on the next trip) and just stayed in - in the private pool, in the public pools, on the sofa in the courtyard...tough to take.

The mornings were especially delightful, we were in the pools by 8:00 am, and were surprised to find coffee delivered to us while enjoying the view and the quiet...what a treat.

We are already trying to find another excuse to take us back to Riverbend!

Room Tip: The Courtyard Rooms are wonderful!

My sister and I took a vacation to Las Vegas and drove back to Missouri on our way back we stopped at many places and our last 2 days were spent @ Riverbend Hot springs before driving back to KC, MO. Its a very nice place we stayed in a double queen and it was very clean had a kitchen w/stove, small fridge and microwave impressed with how well the spa is kept up. We had walked so much in Vegas and Sedona, Painted Desert our legs were really sore. One soak and the soreness was completely gone. Great place to relax. We were there on thursday and friday and not crowed at all. Really nice people who work there also very helpful.

Room Tip: #12 is very nice has 2 queen beds, kitchen very nice.

By traveling mid-week we had the place largely to ourselves and really enjoyed the quiet. I understand it can be quite crowded during the week. We stayed in the Casita which has two bedrooms, a kitchen, and bath and was perfect for the three of us. It was very clean and nicely appointed. The pools are clean and very relaxing and views are magnificent. I would have loved to have a massage, too but that is not available here. The grounds are lovely--lots of colorful flowers. There is a large, comfortable patio space and barbecue for guest use. There is a small patio and barbecue with the Casita. We enjoyed our stay.

I love this place and return again and again. It is only just over an hour from Las Cruces and is a mecca of beautiful plants and relaxing hot springs right on the Rio Grande. We enjoyed the 3 room suite which is beautifully finished to top hotel standards. Everything is clean, comfortable and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We cooked steaks on the patio BBQ for dinner and enjoyed them as the sun set over the river. We've stayed in other rooms here, and all of them are exceptionally well fitted out with local art and comfortable beds, good showers, cable flat screen tvs. I have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels the world over, and LOVE this place. Give it a try

Room Tip: Choose a room on the courtyard if one is available. It is nice to be near the pools/river.

If you are looking for a place for a group of ladies to go on a girls trip this is not the place. Having a good time is not allowed. If you want to visit after 10:00 pm you get told to be quite. We asked that all 6 rooms be together so we would not disturb any one but that didn't happen. We were told no food by the fire pit but noticed it was ok if others did. We go on one or two girls trips a year, this is one place we will never go back to.

Thank you for your feedback, Janet. We do agree that Riverbend is not ideal for most groups. We are known for our quiet and relaxing ambiance and our customers expect and appreciate our protection of that ambiance. We welcome you back, anytime you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, couples retreat or perhaps a small BFF getaway. Until then, take care.

Our fourth time at Riverbend to soak, but first time we had the opportunity to stay there overnight. All I can say is... This place is soaking not only in healthy clean flowing natural hot springs but soaking in care and attention too!

Though initially disappointed not to get a courtyard room (no reservations and I'm told these are booked waaay in advance) we did take a humble "artist" room. While basic, our room was immaculate, new and fresh. Truly everything you could ask for at a place where you really won't want to be in your room anyhow - just security for your stuff, sleep and shower.

Extremely accessible for adults too!

Room Tip: Book early and get a courtyard room, if only for the opportunity to see outside your room and meet o...
