We had a great experience and were pleasantly surprised with the room decor and amenities at this price, as Taos doesn't come cheap. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The many pillows and luxurious comforter on the bed was a nice and luxurious touch. Having a second TV and phone in the sitting area were unexpected extras and also practical if everyone is not on the same schedule. The breakfast was great and the food was constantly being re-stocked. However, the room was small and folks were waiting for a table. We'll stay here again when in the area.

I usually stay at the Hampton Inn but for 80/night vs 140, I decided I would try the Comfort Suites. First the positives: the bed was VERY comforable, and the in room high speed worked great. Now the not so greats: the carpet was soiled BAD! I looked like it needed to be taken up and new laid down. The breakfast was ok....typical raisin bran and pastry....they did have eggs one morning, but that was the only one while I stayed there....I dont know what was up with the plumbing but there was obviously some pressure issues....I saw the maintenance guy mroe than once delivering a plunger to various rooms. My toilet would not even flush a kleenex.....

But, if you are looking for an ok experience, just a place to rest, you will not go wrong here...

I agree with the review just below mine. Everything they said is correct. Very comfortable accomodations, luxery towels, great bed, tons of pillows on each bed and the pillows were so comfortable. The room was not your average hotel room. It had Southwest charm and a mountain view (if you get a room on the North side.) The staff was very nice and there's a computer to use in the lobby. The parking lot needs work. There is a big pothole, maybe two. Other than that everything was great. I would definitely stay here again. I got a special rate for my room so the price was great value for what I got.

Older property but well maintained. Clean. old southwestern decor. Better than new plastic look. Good beds. Good shower. luxury towels. Warm, inviting, breakfast room. Good variety of food. yes, ask for room on north side. No elevator.

avoid BIG pothole in parking lot.

We spent one night at this hotel during a recent road trip. The lobby has a beautiful southwestern-style fireplace designed by a local artist, and I liked the southwestern decorating motif in the room. The room was spacious enough for the four of us. One unusual feature was that the sink is in an alcove between the bathroom and the living area, but this worked well for us, as it gave us access to the sink, even when another family member was in the restroom. The kids enjoyed the pool, and I enjoyed being able to check my email on the computer provided for guests. (Just ask for the password at the front desk.) This hotel was comfortable, clean, and pleasant.

While it is not downtown, it is very convenient to Taos. W were there in late July, and while there was some traffic in and out of town, it was not a problem driving. The room was large, clean, and included breakfast for a fair rate for Taos.

Great view of the mountains -- get a room looking north. We liked it because it was near town, but away from the fray. Yes, it was generic, but it was clean and cozy. Taos has enough funkiness going on that sometimes it's just nice to come home to a basic motel.
