“Good value for the price”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

All the people at the front desk were very polite. The room was very spacious and all the complex is very well maintain. the breakfast room is big and there is also a lot of choices to start your morning. (orange juice, apple juice, water, coffee, bagels, muffin, cornflakes, eggs, sausages, ...). we checked out also the heated pool and looked clean, we didn't use it thou.
We recommend the place.
We saw also there were some construction in the lobby to renew the bar area, sure it will turn out nicely done.
we didn't use SPA or Fitness Center.

First of all, this place is older it is in the process of being updated and it is clean. We stayed here two times, first on our way to Colorado to visit family and then on the way back home. Both for two nights.
The rooms are setup in separate buildings so you don't really feel like your at a hotel. Our room came with a fridge, microwave, king sized bed, sofa and table. The room looked like it had not been updated since 1995 however it was somewhat charming. Our cats enjoyed staying here, spending their time in the large window while we were visiting the town. The hotel is pet friendly so that is a huge bonus. On the down side the hotel is not close to the plaza so if that is something you want and you have the money then stay somewhere else.
However there are a few things in the area within walking distance, a coffee house right across the street as well as Wal-Mart in case you need to grab something and I would recommend eating at the El Taoseño Restaurant & Lounge which has authentic New Mexican cuisine and they serve alcohol .
The Don Fernando has a continental breakfast that runs until 10a.m. They also have a pool. All the staff is super nice, I think this place is overall pretty good.

This hotel was picked by a family friend that had not stayed here and thought it would be great to be close to them, wrong.
The room smelled horrible, the furniture was stained, the bathroom was gross and even worse the sheets looked like they had not been washed.
I could not sleep at all the room smelled so bad and I sneezed all night, finally in the moring figured out it was a funky smell in the pillows, like some type of hair product.
We were to stay a week but left first thing in the morning.
I think people are actually living in the rooms.

We checked a few properties and decided to give this one a go after the filth, bright light and noise at quality inn. We ended up staying the rest of our trip here. Really quiet, good beds. Like most places with tubs, this one's tub didn't drain very well while taking a shower. The included breakfast was good.

Room Tip: We stayed in the 400 block which is towards the rear of the property. Very very quiet. It was $79 fo...

Clean but it needs to be updated.

Hotel and rooms were clean but the rooms need a update.
They are very out dated. Refrigerated air unit was too loud to sleep
with it running. Windows did not work properly.
Staff was friendly.
Pool was not working.

Room Tip: For more South Western Hospatality or a Romantic place to stay go to the INN ON THE RIO.

Overall the hotel is a great place to stay. I had trouble with the person working check-in, but once I was able to talk with the Manager all of my coordination issues were completely taken care of. It was a great experience working with the manager. Just goes to show that it is ok to ask to speak to the manager of encountering issues since they have the background & experience and are likely more vested in the hotel/customer service. It's pros are a good location, nice room, and a hot breakfast.

We had a great time and the accommodations were good. We were glad they are pet friendly. We will stay again and take fishing gear with us. Maybe we will have time too take in the wineries and breweries. ;)

You have absolutely made my day! I am so pleased that you had a great time and enjoyed your stay with us. We always strive to make each guest feel welcome and cared for. This includes our pet guests too!

We are all animal lovers and I am so happy to learn that you felt your pet was accommodated as well. We have great grounds for dog walking and it's secure too!

Please come back and see us and do bring your fishing gear. There are some wonderful spots we can share with you.

Again, thank you for your positive comments about your stay and on behalf of the entire team, we look forward to welcoming you back soon!
