It was a ski weekend... We didn't need the cutesy, authentic & romantic...
Just clean, comfortable and modern. Got it here. Seems like the other hotels in Taos use the western decor to hide tatters and frays. Just stat here for a "real" trip...

Friendly staff and clean well maintained rooms made this Hotel our choice. We were very happy with our stay and will make Hampton Inn our first choice next time we visit Taos. From our initial check in to the day we left a week later, we were treated well and efficiently with friendly professional staff. The hotel is clean, the breakfast choices very good and ongoing coffee, tea or hot chocolate with cookies service available in the lounge all day and evening a nice plus. Our internet connection was uninterrupted. The parking lot is well lit for safety. Great stay.

Hotel is in pretty good shape...close enough to everything you need in town and the staff is helpful. There is a good amount of variety for breakfast and they have a decent sized pool. (They also have a hot tub.) It was fairly quiet and the beds were great. I slept very well, even though it is not the most updated Hampton Inn.

This is a good hotel to stay in when visiting Taos. I enjoyed a 1 night stay here. Good location, great view, clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff and solid breakfast. The only thing that was a little annoying, as many of the reviewers already have pointed out, was the HVAC. It kept going on and off all night and you couldn't turn it off. Something for the Hampton to look into? Other than that, it was a comfortable stay.

...A place to sleep when in Taos to ski--that's about it. Helpful staff; free breakfast--again, nothing fancy, but adequate. HVAC was inconsistent, as other reviewers have noted. The room and towels were definitely clean and the "Hampton Beds" were comfortable, but there was no frig or microwave, unlike most Hamptons I stay at for business (I'm a Hilton Diamond member, BTW). It's also on the opposite side of town, if you're skiing in Taos Ski Valley. Still, I've stayed in much worse places in Taos, for the same or higher price. In short, if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, no-frills place to stay on a ski-trip, this is it. If you're looking for a luxurious, apres-ski experience--look elsewhere.

The hotel was okay, but I would recommend that you get a top floor room and not a connecting room. We had someone above us making so much noise that we eventually called the desk and they did remedy the situation. Save yourself the hour of noise and get a top floor room. We also could hear everything going on next door and I am sure they could hear our tv. Bed was comfortable, clean room. We didn't eat the breakfast.

Room Tip: Top floor and not connecting room

I visited the Hampton in early February, 2013 and found the hotel to be average. The bed was very comfortable as was the room. However the HVAC system was not working well. My room was very hot during the day and I had to do some work from there. In February, in Taos, I had to turn on the A/C which cooled the room but never removed the stuffiness. I tried to open the window but it was so tight I could only open a small part of the way. The internet in the room worked well, the towels and sheets were fresh, the TV had a lot of channels, and overall I slept well. Unfortunately on checkout I lost about an hour trying to print a boarding pass from the single computer in the business center, and then later at the front desk, to no avail.

Overall it was comfortable but the hotel across the street was much more interesting and had a very cool lounge with a dance floor and an awesome band playing live music. The place was hopping. The hotel staff never mentioned it but I convinced my extended family to run across the highway to go there. If the Hampton was cheaper than the other hotel, it was worth it but I never checked.

Room Tip: Ask for one on the ground floor in the back of the hotel away from the highway noise. The south wes...
