“OK, but not great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

Reception staff was great - efficient and friendly. Room was clean, but nothing special. Bed was very hard - if that's what you need to sleep well, you will love it, but it was a little too hard for both of us, resulting in a not very good night. We have stayed in 40+ hotels this year, and we have stayed in hotels across the country and in various other countries over the past several years, and this was the worst toilet paper EVER - Daisy brand! I realize hotels normally use cheaper paper, but this fell apart and you couldn't pull off two pieces together. As most Choice Hotels, breakfast was provided - but this was MUCH BETTER than the average. Instead of a buffet of the normal fair, we were seated in a restaurant and given a choice of a cooked to order breakfast. We both love crispy bacon - and this was the BEST! Cooked just right, as were the eggs, hash browns and french toast.

I loved the value on this hotel, and was very pleased with the staff, the rooms and the location. Will be my choice when I go to Taos again. THe front desk people were efficient and very helpful.Perfect for people who want a good quality, basic cleanliness and nice rooms.

Spacious rooms, Hot breakfast, Cheap but indifferent early bird dinner includes a free wine. Good price for Taos. Smells of smoking, even though seems mostly non. Gave me an early checkin on a bad weather day.

Great value for the money. Full breakfast in the morning included, with great toast! Perfect if you don't plan to spend all day in the hotel and just sleep there, but it does have a hot tub, pool, and bar on site if you do end up spending some time at the hotel. Yes, it's past its prime but for the money and proximity to Taos restaurants, hikes and attractions, you can't beat it.

Looks nice out front. In the back, it's filthy, phlegm on the stairs, cigarettes on stairs, HUGE BRIGHT light outside room window, noisy. Won't be staying there again. We had booked for 2 nights, bailed the morning after the first night. More like a run down motel 6 than a quality inn.

Room Tip: Yeah, don't bother booking here.

I reviewed this Quality Inn in Sep 2012 and it still a good value. There is a full service restaurant on the site and this is were you get your free breakfast. The restaurant is popular with some of the locals. We get to Taos about once or twice a year and stay here.

Each night of our trip was 1 night in a town, so we were no looking for a place to enjoy a vacation. This place was safe and clean, although could use some updating, at least in the room we stayed in. The lounge and pool areas were both nice, and the lobby was also well appointed. It is a beautiful part of the country to explore, and not a bad place to stay while doing so. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. If you like more deluxe accommodations, this may not be the place for you though. If you are not picky and just want a place to sleep in a clean comfortable bed, it will work just fine.
