“Good People Make For A Good Stay”
Reviewed January 24, 2012

I have had the pleasure of staying at Casa Benavides on several occasions over the span of several years and the experience is always the same: top notch.

The rooms are clean and comfortable and never fail to fill the need of a relaxing place to lay one's head after a long day of outdoor entertainment. One of the highlights though is the amazing breakfast to be had every morning. Their attention to detail really shines with an attentive staff and a cook who can hold their own nearly anywhere. Of course the sweets available during afternoon tea are great too!

Located a few blocks off the plaza, it is a great place to call home.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, the staff are kind and helpful, and it's located right downtown. Breakfast is delicious. My husband left his sunglasses in the room and they MAILED them back. Who does that anymore? We are so grateful to them for going above and beyond.

My heart is in the Four Corners of the US. And in New Mexico it is Taos and Casa Benavides on Kit Carson Rd.I've had the priviledge of staying here and have considered it my second home to Telluride Co since 1991. I can't think of any other place to stay where you can experience such cozy and historically inspired interiors, delicious breakfasts - (incredible granola, fresh tortillas, awesome red chile and eggs...wonderful baked goods in the afternoon),friendly people and exquisite examples of works of art from the Taos school of painting circa 1930-1940. It's very relaxing and at the same time spiritually awakening to wake up to a Taos morning...and then to be able enjoy a wonderful breakfast surrounded by the beauty of these Taos artist's paintings... is something else. Very convenient walk of a city block to the town square that dates back to the 16th c. Be sure to check out all of the galleries and if you have a car you must drive out to the Millicent Rogers museum and Taos Pueblo just north of town 10 minutes. The owners and staff are the friendliest in the West!, don't hesitate to ask ANY questions you might have about the area or history of Taos.

Room Tip: I f you want a beautiful morning sunrise to wake up to the Fechin or Desert View rms, 2nd fl. Zuni...

My brother had his wedding here back in 2007. It was a really great place to have the party and for all the guests to stay. We are going back now in December 2011. The rooms are nice and comfortable and the breakfast is unbelievable. They make their own tortillas and they are a real treat. My husband is already looking forward to the breakfast there!

We just happened upon this place because another place we were going to stay was full but we are glad we ended up here. The room was lovely, with a nice fireplace and tasteful, authentic decorations. The breakfast was good and the building itself is lovely. The inn keepers clearly love what they are doing and it shows. Very gracious and helpful. I recommend this place highly.

We only had one night in Taos and this was definitely the place to spend it!!! We arrived mid afternoon - just in time for afternoon tea and home baking. A very nice touch (not to mention absolutely delicious).

The entire Inn is a wonderful historic building with a fabulous entry/reception area, an ajoining lounge with fireplace, a nice breakfast room and a fabulous outdoor patio. We chose one of the smaller rooms upstairs in the main house and it was more than adequate. The bed was comfortable complete with down duvet and quality linens. The bathroom was small but complete with very nice quality toiletries and towels. It seemed that there was a variety of rooms both in size and amenities - all were unique and tastefully decordated.

Ample parking was provided and because the Inn is only 1 block from the main square we were able to walk every where. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the owners especialy gracious. It was a pleasure to stay in such wonderful company.

Probably the best feature of all was the wonderful breakfast - probably the best breakfast we had our entire trip. The eggs with the special green chili salsa was wonderful as were the muffins and homemade granola.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Inn and will certainly stay again my next trip to Taos.

We stayed here in October of 2010. It is just off the plaza so it was easy to walk out the door and 1/2 block or so to shop and eat dinner. We were very pleased with our selection pretty much sight unseen. We stayed in the Chimayo room which was small but nicely decorated and weather was cool enough to open the window. The view was into a neighboring side yard but since we didn't spend much time in the room, except night, it was no problem. Bathroom is very small and since it is an old place not a big issue for us. Although my husband bumped his head on shelf above toilet :). We went to breakfast the next moring and it was wonderful! The food excellent and plentiful, we shared our table with two German couples and enjoyed ourselves totally. Wish we had gotten in early enough to go to tea bet it was good. Everyone we dealt with was very nice and when I asked for some ice for our cooler I was given a big plastic bag full. We would stay there again when next time in Taos.
