Burch Street has been a regular stop for us for years. It is always a delight to go back to such a lovely spot! Jim and Nancy are a great couple in addition to having one of Taos' nicest and most affordable casitas with all the amenities. Enjoy! We always do.

I have been staying in the Burch Street Casitas for the past several years.

I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else unless I decided to buy my own place. The owners Jim and Nancy
are truly amazing at accomodating you during your stay.

I highly reccomend staying
in any one of the four casitas they have on their property.

The casitas are well appointed and walking distance to all of the galleries and restraunts in town.
I have sent many of my family and friends to stay at the Burch Street Casitas and the have had the same wonderful and memory filled vacation experiences.

You might have seen a review I wrote earlier in the month about the Burch Street Casitas entitled, "Potential for better." Nancy Jackson, one of the proprietors, saw my review and was on the phone like THAT!! I asked Trip Advisor to delete the old review.
It's so easy to write a review and leave it to history without revisiting. Here, however, I have to make you aware of how truly genuine and concerned Nancy and Jim of the Burch Street Casitas are about their business and their guest’s satisfaction.
My earlier review was posted and the very next morning I got the phone call from Nancy. I fully expected it to be confrontational - that's what most people would have done. Instead, Nancy apologized profusely for our experience and without making excuses, thanked me and made an assurance that they take guest concerns very seriously and they would be addressed.
There is now no question in my mind that should you or anyone stay at the Casitas, everything would be to your liking. In a day and age of arrogant businesses who don't care about losing a customer because another one is right around the corner, it's refreshing to find people like this who are willing to make things right. A phone call, an apology, and a promise. It only took 10 minutes but you just can't ask for more than that.
I have the utmost appreciation and admiration for Nancy and Jim and wish them well in all they do.

What a wonderful little place to stay, right in down town Taos and at a very reasonable price. The casitas are within walking distance of the Plaza, shopping, several resturants and a large grocery store. Although the resturants in Taos are exciting, if you stay at the casitas for a time, don't overlook the fact that you have a fully furnished kitchen allowing you to stay at home after a rigorous day of skiing, hiking or shopping.

We have stayed at the casitas four winters in a now for our annual winter ski trip. The luxurious baths and warm radient floor heat provide a relaxing setting apres ski. On warmer nights, the private pórtico for each unit adds to enjoyment of the evening sunset . Don't miss the dog paws in the terracotta if you stay in Unit D.

We have stayed at the Burch Street Casitas many times over the years. Each visit is filled with pleasant memories. The casitas are well appointed and comfortable...decorated with a New Mexican flair by the owners, Nancy and Jim. We have always taken our dogs who enjoy being able to step outside on our private patio and sniff around. They also enjoy the walks with the close proximity to the park which has a great walking path. For humans, the walk to the village is perfect. We never tire of the galleries and shops and the Taos Pueblo.

My wife found this wonderful place from someone that stayed there, we made reservations on the phone. The Casitas are very nice and comfortable. King size bed which is very comfortable, cable TV with a VHR player and a selection of movies or bring your favorites. fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare your meals, washer and dryer is very handy if you are traveling for more than a few days. The bath has a tub shower and is very nice. Thw wood burning fireplace is very comfortable and cozy. The units are only 4 blocks from the Taos plaza, an easy walk and you don't have to worry about a place to park and there are many things too do on the plaza. When we arrived Nancy brought over a bottle of wine for us which was a nice touch. I can/t think of anything that i wouls change, very nice accomodations, we even stayed an extra night as we enjoyed taos so much. If you are looking for a good place to stay for a few days that is in downtown taos, I highly recommend the Burch Street casitas.

The Burch Street Casitas in Taos are all about charm, comfort, and atmosphere -- and an unbelievable $99 a night. We stayed for a week, 9/10 to 9/16/06. The beautiful four-year-old Casitas, or little homes, are nestled under towering 200 year old Cottonwood trees on private property. (See our pictures attached)

The Casitas may be new, but they are loaded with Old World charm, from the warm stucco exteriors and arched doors, to the beamed ceilings and Mexican-tiled floors. Light and airy with
lots of windows and inset glass blocks to let in the New Mexico morning light and dramatic afternoon shadows. A separate door leads to a spacious-covered patio, perfect for morning coffee or settling in with a book.

The hosts, Jim and Nancy, are former city folks and such a nice couple. Their restored adobe home reflects their artistic nature. Jim is a chef with a wealth of information on restaurants and
food. He told us they designed the Casitas to be “What we like when we travel.”

Now for the practical stuff. Taos is four and a half hours from Denver and an hour and a half from Santa Fe. The Casitas are very clean and well maintained. Each has a brand new, fully-
equipped kitchen, cable TV, comfortable bed and bedding. We liked having breakfast at the Casita instead of going out every morning. A couple of nights we wanted to kick back after long days of trekking the shops and museums, so we heated up delicious leftovers from our restaurant meals and watched a movie.

A small stacked washer/dryer with detergent made it easy to wash out my favorite jeans. The bedroom area is tucked out of the way of the main living space. Our Casita had quaint Southwest touches throughout, including hand-cut cornices over the windows.

The Casitas don't usually have daily “maid service,” which we preferred. It gave us a wonderful sense of privacy and seclusion. (If you needed something, however, Jim or Nancy would be there in a minute.) The Burch Street Casitas are on our permanent Must-Stay List. Burch Street Casitas comes up on Google.

Favorite Drive: Santa Fe is a scenic hour and a half away. Fun but we liked to escape the crowds and get back to Taos at the end of the day. (Road can be tricky after dark.)

Favorite walks from Burch Street Casitas: The little town of Taos is three short blocks. Don’t miss the Bent Street shops. A short walk leads to beautiful mountain and meadow views.

Favorite restaurant: Doc Martin’s at the Taos Inn (walking distance). Great atmosphere and food breakfast, lunch or dinner. Try the rich blue corn blueberry pancakes!

Favorite museum: The Millicent Rogers Museum (and house). Fabulous house, jewelry, art, and setting.

Wireless: We picked up a couple of wireless connections to check email.
