After reading the TripAdvisor reviews, we decided this was the place to stay during our visit to Taos in August.

The owners were very accommodating and gracious. Because we arrived later than expected, Nancy called our cell phone, concerned that we might have gotten lost.

We were in Casita C. It was a cute little casita, with a nice covered patio off the back. There is no air conditioning, but it really was not needed - daytime temps in the 80's and nights in the upper 50's kept the place just right. Well equipped with kitchen supplies that allowed us to make simple breakfasts and even a dinner one night.

Many of the reviews talk about the cleanliness. While I can't say the casita was dirty, it seemed like it just needed an overall total cleaning and attention. Based on the reviews we were expecting a little more, but even so, we still enjoyed our stay.

The parking area is very large so there is plenty of space between cars.

Overall, it was a nice place with friendly hosts.

Room Tip: There are 4 casitas, but we only saw our own, casita "C". Because "A" and "D" are end rooms, they only share one wall with the next unit, but even sharing two walls, we never heard either of our neighbors.

You absolutely can't go wrong staying at Burch Street Casitas! We felt as if we were staying with friends in their guest casita! The casita is delightful and beautifully decorated in the Taos manner with radiant-heated Saltillo tile floors, a wonderful wood burning kiva, fabulous comfortable bed, and very user-friendly kitchenette. The 4 casitas are located (along with the owners' delightful adobe home ) on a scenic little Taos street a short walk from the Plaza. Jim and Nancy were warm and very accommodating and full of useful Taos information. This is a true gem and
"the only" place to consider staying for your Taos visit!!

This group of 4 casitas is conveniently located within easy walking distance of the plaza. It is cozy and safe especially for this woman traveling alone. Nice and clean and beautiful southwest feel but not over the top. Loved it! Plan to return.

This isn't just the best place to stay in Taos, it might be the best place in New Mexico.

We've been staying at the Burch Street Casitas for eight summers now and we booked for an extra week there next year. The casitas are tucked away on an old residential street behind the innkeepers' (Nancy & Jim) home. The location is very private, quiet and serene but it's also very close to the plaza shops and businesses (a 10 minute walk, tops, on the hottest day). The casita is always clean, well-appointed, comfortable. While they seem small in the pictures, everything is arranged so to be convenient. We generally stay for 2 weeks at a time and there's plenty of space for all of our stuff -- including our bicycles, which we park outside under a tree. Additionally, even though they aren't air conditioned, the casitas are perfectly comfortable temperature-wise because of how they're constructed. The ceiling fan easily gets rid of any residual humidity after a late afternoon rainstorm (during monsoon season in July), and the covered porch makes for a great second-living room outside during much of the day. We love the casitas! We'll keep staying here until we buy our own house!

Room Tip: All the casitas are quite nice, with kitchenettes & a small stacking washing/dryer. We like casita D because it's porch is off to the far side of the property. Casita A has very convenient parking alongside it. Casita B is good for longer stays because it has a larger couch & dresser. Casita C is great for families w/extra sleeping room.

We had a fantastic weeks stay at Burch Street Casitas. Never having traveled in New Mexico I was a bit stressed about staying in a new town and at new lodging. My worries were put to rest as soon as we walked into the casita. It was adorable!!!!! Cozy, quiet, beautifully maintained. There was a wonderful rain shower the first night we there and we settled in to a comfortable stay. Nancy is wonderful. The owners gave us the privacy we needed but we know that if we had any questions they are there on the property. Thanks for a wonderful stay Nancy, it couldn't have been better!!!!

Room Tip: Try the Gorge and Orlandos for great, casual dining. Don't miss the gorge bridge, a side trip around the Enchanted Circle and the drive to Las Vegas was beautiful (though a little disappointed in the town itself).
