“A visit back to 1800”
Reviewed May 6, 2012

We loved our trip to the Martinez Hacienda. Do not miss the chance to see one of the most important pieces of history restored to take you back to 1800 when the Martinez family lived in Taos. One wanders the old hacienda and can open every door to peek into a time gone by. Their store is full of interesting and tempting local hispanic cookbooks and souvineers.

“interesting place to stop by for 15 minutes”
Reviewed May 3, 2012

nothing "special' but a solid example of a local dwelling from 1800's. $8 charge is over the top in my opinion, but Thursday is good as local artists work and show their wares. A good injection of real history vs drivel they teach kids in schools.

“An intimate view of early 18th c. Taos”

The only old adobe hacienda of its kind we've found in N. NM. Explanatory information is good. Educational value is high.

“A look at the Spanish way of life”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

After visiting the Taos Pueblo to see how the native people live, the Blumenschein house to see how the artists lived, a visit the the Martinez Hacienda provides a look at life among the 18th century Spanish and their servants.

Thoroughly enjoyed walking thru this historical hacienda. One can almost picture how families lived during the wild west.
