Went here for breakfast, ended up with so much food, that I had it the next day as well!
Everything very fresh, I loved the green chile (I had papas and rajas, which is food enough for a football player, and oh so good, with eggs cooked to your liking) Pleasant staff, too.

I've been a fan of the Taos Diner for years. The food is freshly prepared, often organic and made with love and care. I usually dine at the Northside location, but have tried the downtown location, too. The menu is the same, but since I've been dining at the northside location for a long time, I just feel more comfortable there. The food is excellent at either spot.

At the Northside spot, the locals hang out there. The servers and hosts know the regulars and it's fun to watch the interaction. Although you might be put off by the fact that it's flat dab next to the Taos Pawn shop, do go in. You will be warmly greeted--unless they are insanely busy in which case you will have to wait a minute.

The breakfast menu is so wonderful--fluffy pancakes. Tasty red and green chile smothered huevos rancheros, big burritos (get the small order unless you have a humongous appetite), yummy home fries--and the specials! The coffee is outstanding. (Killer biscuits, too!)

And, if you are watching your waistline, just have an egg or bowl of oatmeal. Still delicious.

Lunch brings wonderful, fresh salads and delish burgers. The sandwiches and burritos are great. And you can get breakfast all day. The ice tea is very tasty.

Desserts? If you have room, you will not be disappointed.

The food at the Downtown location is just as delicious. That location is brightly painted, too. A happy place. The northside location's decor is true Taos funky.

Grab a bite at the Taos Diner. You won't be disappointed.

I had eggs florantine and theywereincredible Eggs perfect Poached just right. The hollandaise was sublime-perfect and creamy and just the right texture. The spinach was baby spinach. Fresh and just barely wilted. The side of home fries was hot and cooked just right. Everything these was excellent. I felt like I was in a 5 star French Bistro. Atmosphere was a bit cold, but thats Taos. Superior Dining !!!

Worse Breakfast I have ever had. Bacon almost burnt, OM eggs over cooked more like hard cooked. Potatoes not too bad. How do you overcook whole wheat toast, yup it was overcooked. Very disappointed. Not sure why we were told it was sooo goood. Even the green chile sucked, They need a real cook!! Locals again disappointed!
