“Quaint brewery, live music, perfect atmosphere with great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2012

This brewery was a welcome part of a spring break trip to Taos. We are beer snobs, and this brewery did not disappoint. We did the visitor thing and had the sample platter of beers. The most unique and intriguing was their green chili ale. Delicious with a hint of fire. The brewery is housed in an older building, with multiple small rooms, giving it a very friendly and homey feel. Service was great, live music was entertaining, food was delicious. We will return next time we are in Taos.

“OND = one 'n done!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2012

The menu is unusual and while the food is good, they need to revamp the menu. The beer was less than average. I wanted a pale ale, the tap was not working, later they brought a sample of the pale ale but it was not cold which was true with all the the beers, they were not cold.

The were rated the #1 brew pub in Taos, well they are the only brew pub in Taos, and they would not make my top 200 microbrew list, actually they would be left off any list.

“13 years since last visit and even better!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2012

When we used to live in New Mexico over 13 years ago we used to stop in to Eskes after a hike to have a Fatty and a couple of beers and while vacationing here this time we were waiting o return. This afternoon after the prerequisite hike we stopped on for the 'usual' and it was honestly better than I remembered it. If you are visiting Taos and need that taste fix, this it, say hello to Wanda in the open kitchen and bring an appetite, thanks, great memory!

“Wonderful Find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

Arrived in Taos very hungry and looking for a nice place to have a late lunch. Eske's was a wonderful find, with a terrific staff and very good food. Two of our group had the Apricot Beer and raved about it. Highly recommend a stop here.

“Serviceable brewpub”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

Eske's is one of those places that don't make much of an impression--positive or negative. The place is laid-back, almost to a fault. You pretty much have to sit outside, the inside seating area is tiny. We visited twice, once for lunch, once for a beer. Lunch was fine. They make a decent green chile cheeseburger and my companion didn't complain about her veggie burger. Their beer is pretty good. They're known for the green chile beer. I tried one and although it was okay, I suspect it's more of an acquired taste. Prices are reasonable. Service is hit and miss. New Mexico is coming a bit late to microbrewing, so at least Eske's is giving it a go. That may be enough reason to stop in for a pint.
