Description: Lambert's of Taos is a family-owned and operated full service, upscale establishment serving Contemporary American cuisine with northern New Mexican influences in an elegant but relaxed setting. We are one of the few establishments in town that serves cocktails in addition to beer and wine. Upstairs we have the Treehouse Bar and Lounge for those not in the mood for linen tablecloths and looking for a cool, classy, and eclectic hangout with well-versed bartenders and inviting prices. During our Happy Hour (2:30 - 6:00), everything on our Happy Hour menu is $6.

“Great Food”

While touring Taos we decided on having dinner at Lambert's. without reservations we were seated immediately. My husband had venison chops with a cherry sauce that he can't stop raving about. It started to rain in the patio and we were reseated Inside to have our dessert. The staff was exceptional and the food was beyond great.

“Nice location, average food”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

The restaurant is walking-distance if you are staying in downtown Taos. It’s nice to arrive early and enjoy a cocktail upstairs if you have time (although the bartender was distracted and made me the wrong martini). Our table shared a first course of mushroom risotto and the clams/mussels dish. Both offerings were tasty, but not outstanding. For our entrees we selected the Steak Au Poivre and the duck. The duck was not very appetizing. The skin was not crispy, so not really edible (just a layer of fat). If duck is cooked with the layer of fat to render the flavor it should be served with crispy skin or the fat should be removed before serving.

“A real treat to dine here”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

We arrived early and they were fully booked but went upstairs to the very cool and comfortable bar (they call Bird's Nest) and ordered a drink and within 10 minutes were able to sit us. The service by our waiter, Thijs, was perfect! He was very busy but always kept an 'eye' on us if needed anything. Service in my book can make or break a place but the food was as outstanding as the service. My husbands buffalo sirloin was melt in your mouth good and my duck was delicious. The beet salad was very good also. From the receptionist, to the bartender, to our server, our server's assistance we were treated like 'special guest' and was best dining experience during our nine day visit to New Mexico.

“Meh! Looking for another dining experience in Taos”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

We arrived for a late lunch on a Saturday. Lambert's was pretty quiet. The food was good but not memorable. My friend said the Margarita was exceptional. The service was mediocre at best. The waiter was inattentive, the appetizer (chips and salsa) arrived about three minutes before the main course, Apology before we even sat down was that the kitchen backed up. Curiously, however, there weren't many tables occupied at the time. The waiter apologized a second time, I can't even remember for what. It was obvious he didn't care if we were there or if he served us. We debated over what kind of tip we should leave. Nevertheless, at $39 for lunch for two, you can generally do a lot better in NM, so I don't plan to go back. This, coming from someone who was just up visiting for the day from Santa Fe.

“Beautiful setting and great food!”
Reviewed July 10, 2013 via mobile

Delicious food & drinks - had the shrimp tacos and my husband had the chicken tacos and we both loved them - very fresh ingredients. One of the best tacos we've ever had and we've tried many. Gorgeous adobe style house with a cute outdoor patio on the back. Highly recommend!
