Not a lot to deal with traffic wise if you go early. Lots of venders selling things there. Avoid them and go early before they get all set up. Visit with the "Silver Lady" of the area. She has good stuff and is honest.

“Rio Grande Gorge Bridge”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

Very scenic view. Also lots of local vendors selling their wares much cheaper then downtown. If you look closely you can see the mountain goats along the cliffs.

Royal Gorge Bridge is a short drive west of town and worth the drive to walk on the bridge and stand over the Rio Grande river

“Awesome sights, great photo op.”
Reviewed July 2, 2014 via mobile

Today, we were not only blessed to see such a great sight, the view from the bridge. But we also watched a great thunder storm move across the high desert onto the gorge. We didn't stay long but long enough to get a great photo.

“Amazing view”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

The view is stunning from both sides of the bridge. The sidewalks and viewing areas are wide enough that you feel safe even as traffic whizzes by on the bridge. There is a rest are on the west end and there were numerous vendors with a wide variety of handmade items on the west end as well.
