The gorge is worth seeing. Unfortunately you can't see it at its best from the rest area, so you have to walk along the bridge with a narrow sidewalk - beware of traffic. Parking area close to it has been closed.

Must visit in Taos area, the bridge is spectacular. Be prepared to be wow'ed. The gorge sight on north side is yet more impressive.

Quite a ways up and not for the faint of heart. You can feel the bridge move as trucks roll past. But it is the best vantage point to see what the gorge is all about.

The view of the Rio Grande River Gorge from the bridge was wonderful! The vista was unbelievable. The view is worth the trip to Taos. There is a nice rest stop on the west side of the bridge which has a great view of the bridge as well as interesting hiking trails. There are numerous vendors on the west side of the bridge offering jewelry, pictures and rocks.

Unbelievable vista from the middle of the bridge. We also went to the rest stop on the north side of the bridge, walked the trail and found another incredible vantage point. Well worth the drive from Taos. Would love to see the gorge in the spring or the summer.
