“Very scenic”

We were on our way to the hot springs, and ended up taking a dip in the Rio Grande river! Chilly, but very cool.

“Breathtaking view. Well worth a visit.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

If you're around Taos, definitely take the short drive out of town to see the gorge from the bridge. There's plenty of free parking, and several very nice viewing platforms. You'll also find a snack stand or two, a few vendors selling jewelry and trinkets, and a mini-state park area with restrooms.

But the real attraction is the gorge. Bring your camera and enjoy the scenery. You can take it all in in half an hour. Great stop off the beaten path.

“Great view atop the bridge overlooking the gorge”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

You can park on the west side of the bridge. Dozens of vendors have their wares set up on tables at the curb by their trucks/vans/cars. After parking, one can walk out over the bridge and get a great look into the canyon below to see the Rio Grande which is only about six or seven feet across at the bottom. They should have called it the Rio Largo because of its length instead of the Rio Grande (pretty narrow every place I've seen it). Anyway, the view from above is very good and provides a good picture taking opportunity.

“Scared of Heights? Don't look down!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

Amazing site to see. Reminded me of Black Canyon of the Gunnison. An hour earlier we were seeing Big Horn Sheep by the River, then we drove to the Gorge and suddenly the river was wayyy down there. Walked halfway across, the wind picked up and the rain moved in. Something to see, don't miss it.

The ancient, unrelenting power of Mother Nature: water finding it's own level while sculpting the incredible abyss.
