“Great food, local hangout”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

We made a quick stop at the Purple Sage Cafe before heading into Taos. We could tell it's a local hangout, so we hoped for the best. We weren't disappointed! Food was excellent. Boyfriend had fish & chips special, while I had a grilled chicken sandwich with a salad and pickle. The balsamic dressing with feta was awesome! Service was very prompt and friendly. They have a small seating area and few tables, so they aim to get you in and out quickly. Purple Sage Cafe has wi-fi but reserves the right to ask you surfers to leave if there are people waiting to eat. I really enjoyed this place.

“A Local Lunch and Good too”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We were looking for a non-chain place for lunch and happened upon the Purple Sage Café. It was a pleasant find enhanced by the 6 police officers eating at the next table (they usually know where the good food is).

We both had grilled sandwiches - grilled ham and cheese for one and the grilled chicken, bacon, swiss with guacamole for me. We tried the sweet potato fries and they were worth the extra cost. The help was friendly and the service super.

“Most menu items look healthy”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

Went twice. The salad had great ingrediants and was delicious, field greens, peppers, feta and such. The only downside was supermarket quality tomatoes. The ham and swiss on rye was OK.

“Average New Mexico comfort food”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Not bad, but not worth seeking out. Chile cheeseburger good, iced coffee weak, fruit smoothie OK, mediterranean salad disappointing.
