“Lovely little museum of Taos artists”

Charming, accessible and best of all free ( if you filled out a survey). Enjoyed the Gus Foster exhibition and the John Connell works as well. Staff friendly too. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

“interesting and varied collection”
Reviewed May 10, 2014

Some galleries clicked with us more than others, but the collection of santos was a highlight--as well as some amazing wood carving, doors, etc. The spaces are bright and welcoming.

“Blah”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

Don't waste your time unless you like modern art that could be anything the artist says it is. Thankfully there was not a lot of art to look at so we were saved a lot of time.

Thanks for your review! Unfortunately you visited us during one of the Museum's two-week exhibition changes (which happens three times per year), so there was indeed less work on view than usual (thus the reduced admission price). We hope that you enjoyed your trip to Taos.

“Great Little Art Museum”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

i think there should be a separate consideration for small art museums and this is one of the best. The collection, the care with which it is displayed and the pride the staff takes in their work set
the Harwood apart.

“Harwood Museum is a Wonderful Find!”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

Well-curated exhibit of Taos County Schools' Artwork, which featured canvases we had never known about or seen. The collection of retablos and santos is amazing and includes examples of old New Mexico masters. For fans of Agnes Martin, her gallery is a must-see! We have seen some of the Ribak and Mandleman pieces and they are well-worth a visit when they are up on exhibit.
