This restaurant came highly recommended by TA and locals. It did not disappoint! The antelope loin was to die for. Yes, I said antelope. The service was top shelf and I wish I would have taken a picture to show you of the bulletin board which list all the local suppliers and exactly what they supplied. Everything was fresh!

This restaurant was absolutely stunning outside and in with the beautiful, chic, and relaxing décor. The architecture was beautiful, as it was an old church, and the outdoor porch was enclosed and made for a nice dinner (although we did not sit there). Be sure to make a reservation in advance because it is fairly small and very busy. We were seated right away (because of reservation), and the server was very nice and welcoming, but she was slow. The food was pretty expensive and was just average. The chicken tacos had large sharp bones in them which was slightly unappetizing. We tried several salads and they were amazing. The one dish that is a MUST try is the blue and yellow cornbread with sweet and savoury butter.

So many travelers have already endorsed the The Love Apple that we hardly need to add our voices to the chorus. Yet we must. We have just come to the end of a fabulous two-week vacation in Colorado and New Mexico, a trip that included fine dining in locations from Aspen to Santa Fe. The unanimous favorite among us: The Love Apple in Taos, where we dined one evening and couldn't resist returning the second. Top scores for creativity: a blend of farm-to-table, regional cuisine, with Northern New Mexican flavors, and French preparation and attention to detail. The menu fascinated us and the dishes outdid the descriptions--truly scrumptious, from the vegetarian lentil-leek asparagus dish with an herb pesto on a delicate panna cotta and chick pea crepes, to the wild boar meat with a complex mole, to unparalleled chicken tacos. A salad of spinach greens, fennel, and a divine dressing. Dessert of luscious coconut sorbet with pinon cookie; a mouthwatering strawberry-rhubarb gallette. Given the labor-intensive work in preparing these meals, the place is probably quite underpriced. All in a beautiful environment that put us in a quiet, reverential mood. The service the first night was reserved and professional; the second night was friendly and warm; we appreciated both. Brava to this marvelous restaurant that we will never forget and hope to return to before long.

We ate here for our anniversary and had a lovely evening. The restaurant is housed in an old adobe building that was once a small chapel. As other reviewers mentioned, you walk thru the kitchen to get to the dining area. Service was excellent and prices reasonable. We selected a French bottle of wine and started off with the cornbread appetizer. The blue corn bread was the best and a nice way to begin dinner. We shared a local salad of greens, goat cheese and strawberries and they split the plates before bringing to the table. For a main I had the trout which was light and well cooked, although a bit too much oil on the greens. My husband had the wild boar. Initially, he wasn't thrilled with the dish but as he got into it more, the flavors of the red mole came alive and he enjoyed it more.
