Owner description: Los Rios River Runners is New Mexico's oldest, largest, and most experienced rafting company. We've been rafting through the spectacular river canyons of northern New Mexico since 1972. We offer trips from mild to wild, from half-day to 3-days, from the world-class white-knuckle whitewater of the Taos Box (available as a full-day adventure or as part of a multi-day overnight) to family fun adventures and serene floats. Spend starry nights in the serene Chama wilderness, or float along a mellow section of the Rio Grande with a Native Pueblo guide and a traditional feast meal awaiting you at the takeout. Sunset dinner floats too! And check out our multi-sport adventures: rock and raft, pedal and paddle, and paddle and saddle. Los Rios has more access to more stretches of river than any other NM rafting company, and offers the broadest variety of trips. Come boating with us, and take home lifetime memories.

We are so glad we chose Los Rios to guide us on our white water trip! Their guides are so much fun! Our kids (11 & 20) had a blast too! My 20 year old son did the rock climbing in the morning and we all did the rafting on the racetrack in the afternoon the rock climbing guide was wonderful and a great instructor. My son had never rock climbed before but he felt like a pro when he was done. The rafting tour was awesome and all of the guides were funny and made sure we all felt like family and had a great time! We couldn't have asked for a better time! Money well spent!

If you sign up with Los Rios ask for Sherry, she is the best raft guide, very knowledgeable really good at what she does. We went the whole day lower gorge and had the best time of my life, I could have had a little more action from the river, next time I will try the box in the spring; otherwise, Los Rios took care of everything. Thanks to Los Rios and Taos!

Our 1/2 day Racecourse trip was my family's first experience whitewater rafting and I am thrilled that, among all of the choices in the area, we chose Los Rios River Runners. Their emphasis on professionalism + fun made the day one we will always remember. Our guide, John, was absolutely perfect for us: he had a gentle way of guiding that was instructional without being overbearing. We learned a lot and had an absolute blast! So impressed with the whole organization.

Our family did a hike down to the river in an area that is not frequently traveled and only available to two rafting companies. Our guides took the un-inflated kayaks down the trail on bicycles for us. Inflated them at the river, and off we went. It was a blast! Everyone had their own rubber kayak called a Funyak. At the midway point we stopped and ate lunch under a huge ponderosa pine...many of the huge black rocks on the path up to the pine had petroglyphs that were the incredible sights to see. The river was running low, but there were still plenty of rapids for our beginner abilities. Eric and Gavin were our guides and did a great job.

08/02/2013, 8:30 in the morning and we met with the Los Rios River Runners crew at Bode's General Store. They came with a big school bus and a trailer full of equipment and boats!
Last time I saw this crew on the same day, it was 9:30 pm and they were serving us dessert in the middle of the wilderness!
I can only imagine how long a working day is for this crew!
It was a fantastic experience, we (my other half, myself and our two kids), all had lots of fun white water rafting and camping with this awesome team (
(Josh, Eric, Bradley and John). They can handle a rafting boat, they can cook, they can entertain adults and kids alike, they can even play the guitar and sing!

Thank you all for an unforgettable experience!
Thank you all so much for your patience, hard work and professionalism!
