“The Perfect Place for a Proposal”
Reviewed September 12, 2009

Two years ago an old beau of mine and I reconnected, after 26 years. The problem though? He didn't want to come to AZ and I didn't want to go to TX! We compromised - we met in the middle - in Taos. This charming B&B is the best place for romance! For two evenings we sat in our own private hot tub overlooking Taos drinking wine and eating chocolate. On the third night he proposed!! We married this past April, and have been back to the La Dona many times - it is our home away from home! The caretaker is awesome and the Rainbow Room is magical! Too bad we never get up in time for the breakfast!! I hear it's yummy!

Located a short walk from Taos Plaza and most art galleries and great restaurants, the Dona Luz Inn was a wonderful discovery. We stayed in the Santiago Room, a delightful, cozy and antique-filled space just right for our wedding anniversary vacation. Paul, our host, was incredibly friendly and helpful in giving us tips about Taos. The breakfasts included fresh fruits, healthy choices of cereals and breads (even bagels!) and juices, coffee, a variety of teas, and hot, fresh waffles. Just an outstanding experience!!

We highly recommend this fabulous Inn! Our room was like a private art gallery with lovely art, indian pottery, Kachina Dolls and more. The location is perfect and easily within walking distance of galleries, restaurants and the Plaza. La Dona Luz Inn is the most sensational Boutique" Inn we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The owner is just as charming as the facility! His knowledge of the area is vast and his own personal history is rich in the Southwest culture. We arrived strangers and left Friends! Please treat yourself to a little slice of heaven!

The art and artifacts in our room reflected the New Mexican culture in a singular way. The people were very friendly and the service was first rate.
Proximity to the plaza is a big plus.
Staying at htis B&B was one of the highlights of our Taos weekend.
Can't even think of going to Taos without staying here again!

We went with two other couples and stayed at La Doña Luz for three nights. Paco and his staff were the nicest hosts I've encountered in 35 years of traveling in the US, Mexico, and Europe. Our group had three rooms total, and we also saw the other rooms for future visits! They are all decorated in lovely colors with various art works. The breakfast buffet was great. We were a block from the Plaza, one or two blocks from the Taos Inn for cocktails and dinner, and about three blocks or less from several museums and galleries.

This historic Inn and B&B offers a wealth of the historic Taos, along with stunning artwork that is not only as pictures but across many of the fixtures and fittings, which make this Inn a superb stay.

Located adjacent to the Plaza, this Inn provides a choice of rooms that range from romantic through to beautiful. The Rainbow Room, which is on two levels with a hot tub above it on the roof, provides couples or families kitchen facilities, along with a unique view of the town from the roof. Hot-tubbing late at night delivers privacy and fun for all.

Proprietor, Paco Castillo, is the ultimate in hospitability and friendliness, welcoming all to his Inn.

It is situated in historic downtown Taos, and bars, restaurants and shops are within close walking distance.

I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The inn is absolutely amazing. The decor and ambiance is perfect and classic Taos, and the location is unbeatable. The rooms are all spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable. Paco clearly cares about the inn and his guests and is a wonderful host. I wish I had been able to stay longer!
