The Historic Taos Inn
Ranked #3 of 15 Hotels in Taos

Our room was spacious and was on the perimeter of a nicely landscaped court yard. The décor and atmosphere of the hotel holds true to the Historic nature of its name. The layout of the buildings and courtyards induces an immediate sense of comfort and relaxation. The Inn is located adjacent to the Plaza and Bent street area so an easy walk will take you to the local area attractions. The restaurant and lounge area are very popular so dinner reservations are strongly suggested.
The Historic Taos Inn is located in the center of town making day time excursions to the surrounding sites is easy.

Room Tip: Rooms located on the courtyards provide an area out doors to relax in. For birders from out of town...

We had been to Taos many times but had never stayed at the Taos Inn. I have always wanted to stay there. We now live in New Mexico and went to an event in Taos. I booked our room online at the Taos Inn. We weren't disappointed. A very historic, interesting old building with great atmosphere. The staff was amazing! From the front desk, to the bar, to the restaurant - all were friendly and helpful. The room we had was a little small, but we chose one of the less expensive rooms, so we were ok with the size. The hotel is right near the plaza, so you are within walking distance to most everything you need. The restaurant has great food, although a bit expensive. We loved the front courtyard where you can have drinks.and watch people walk by. A fun place!

No sit down breakfast in the dinning room was kind of disappointing, because it has a very nice southwestern feel. We did eat dinner in the dinning room the night before, which was very pleasing. We also enjoyed very good live music in the hotel lobby.

Room Tip: We liked the older room in the Spanish style courtyard, it was very quaint, quiet and clean.

Wife and I loved our one night stay in this comfy, fun, and unique hotel. Dinner at the attached restaurant Doc Martin's was very nice as well. We wanted to check out some art galleries and just stroll around historic parts of Taos and The Taos Inn's location is perfect.

The room was great and ready for us. We were traveling with 3 people and this seem to perplex most places - not the Historic Taos Inn - they were ready for us and made us feel very welcome.

The bar was fun, the margaritas just okay, the tacos delicious and the breakfast muffins stale.

Room Tip: Select a room that looks on to one of the courtyards, I bet the flowers are beautiful when in seaso...

It was great - clean, fun and TONS of local atmosphere. We will stay here again. The "local" evening music left a "little to be desired", but the service was friendly, the grounds were well maintained and the location was terrific.

My mom and I we on a road trip and specifically planned a trip through Taos to stay at this hotel. We picked out which room we wanted and made the reservation. Our room was supposed to be in the main building, but upon arrival it got switched. The girl who checked us in...I believe her name was Liz, but she definitely never told us just handed us the keys without even telling us it had been switched. She didn't even provide an explanation when I asked why the room was changed. That being said, our room was awesome! The fireplace was perfectly stocked for us to make a fire and the sofa bed was probably the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The entertainment and atmosphere are infectious, and everyone aside from the rude girl at the front desk was incredibly helpful and appeared to be very happy at their job. I have recommended this hotel to everyone I know going out west and plan on making a return visit in the future.

Room Tip: You can pick your room on the website when making your reservation!
