This hotel was recommended by some fellow motorcyclists and I'm glad we took their advice. The room, lobby, and pool area were extremely clean and inviting. The location is good - just far enough away from the crowds in downtown but still within walking distance. The front desk clerk was friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this and would stay again if I'm ever back in the area.

Room Tip: Be aware that they have some rooms that are not air conditioned. This could be important if the wea...

Though it's been a while since I've stayed here, I do drive from my home in Albuquerque to Taos from time to time and always choose El Pueblo, especially over the Kachina Lodge. If you want a restaurant and bar/entertainment, just walk across the street. El Pueblo's rooms are delightful. It's "old Taos" when motels were the best stay for road trips. I especially enjoy ground floor rooms on the north side of the property with front and back doors leading to grassy areas where you can just sit and relax. I prefer to go off-season because of crowds and because summer rain showers often contain lots of lightning which keeps you out of the pool. The location is so great for whatever you want to do. As others have said, the center of town is an easy walk south. Taos Pueblo is a short drive east, Taos Gorge, the Millicent Rogers Museum, and Taos airport, a short drive north west. If you don't spend more than three days here you'll kick yourself. This is a respite for rattled nerves, the driving-weary, and city-dwellers who crave to begin to breathe and turn back time.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back of the property are quietest. Ask to see one or two rooms before you agree to rent...

We stayed just one night here and really enjoyed it. The room was quite large. Perhaps the best feature of this hotel is its location. It is walking distance to the center of the town. The breakfast was excellent.

I made my reservation purely from the reviews and photos of this motel. Being voted #1 motel in Taos on Tripadvisor helped in my decision. This place is on the north side of town and close to great restaurants. No downtown traffic congestion and rv traffic. It's kitchy but charming. Our room was in the back section and very quiet. BIG room with door to "balcony" overlooking grassy common area. Breakfast was a nice mix of healthy choices and kid favorites with outdoor setting. Nice little pool though we never used it. This is a great value and perfect for families.

Stayed two nights here. They have a nice pool and hot tub. It is family friendly and the continental breakfast is more than just coffee and muffins, great covered patio to sit out on. We would stay here again.

This lodge is so cozy and charming. The hospitality of Bridgette the front desk lady will knock your socks off! Cookies in the evening, and a complimentary extra agent continual breakfast in side and on the patio! We had an issue with the cleanliness of the condo but the management sent someone up immediately to clean it to our expectation. they also compensated us for our inconvenience and were very sincere in the apology. This was i believe a fluke and not the norm. i will definitely be willing to give them another try!

Room Tip: We stayed upstairs in the condo. I do not recommend this room. Musty and not up o par in my opinion.

My husband and I spent a week at The El Pueblo Lodge. Compared to Texas, the cool temperatures are a real treat! We could not have been happier with the staff, location, grounds, dog friendliness, or the facility. When was the last time a hotel staff went out of their way to please you? Well, if you stay here, get ready to be pampered and appreciated! Good breakfast, nice pool/hot tub, comfortable room, and restful atmosphere. We will be back!

Room Tip: Try to stay on the ground floor at the back. You will be close to the ice machine and the laundry ro...
