We have stayed several times at El Pueblo and a couple of years ago it was getting rather tired - but they have done many improvements and it again a charming place at a great value. We travel with our dog and it is dog friendly and has nice places for them to get outside. Walking distance to the Plaza, shopping, galleries and restaurants makes it, in our opinion, the best place to stay in Taos!

We agree with everything LadyRouge says. The continental breakfast was ample and varied but it would be improved with some protein beyond hard-boiled eggs instead of carbs, carbs, carbs. A more serious complaint is the lack of safety grab bars in the bathtubs. But overall, the El Pueblo gets 5 stars from us.

This is a fabulous place to stay in Taos. It is walking distance to the downtown and was very close to Michael's bakery plus several other shops. Our room was spacious, clean, nicely decorated plus had a large new bathroom. The breakfast area was really cozy and they had really nice outdoor seating. They had a pool and a hot tub which we did not take advantage of but I did use their small workout facility. The people who worked there could not have been more nice and helpful with things to do in the area. I highly recommend if your staying in Tas to stay here.

From check in to check out, this was an amazing experience. We arrived in Taos with no reservation for the weekend; planned on checking out a few places before choosing. El Pueblo was first on our list due to location and Trip Advisor ranking. We were greeted by incredibly friendly staff who let us check out the two available rooms before booking (so helpful!); we also got warm chocolate chip cookies. :) The new beds and linens, redone bathrooms, pool and hut tub were perfect. Breakfast was delicious and fun. Location is perfect: walkable to everything in town! The staff's restaurant recommendations were spot on. My husband and I are already talking about going back for Thanksgiving.

Room Tip: Be sure to double check if your room has AC when it's warm; staff definitely told us which did and didn't, but always good to double check.

My husband & I (& dog) stayed here for 3 nights (Rm147). Very spacious room with a nice kitchen area w. lots of storage. New bed very comfy. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Plenty of room to walk our dog. Only issue we had was a problem accessing the internet the first night, but that was fixed. We would recommend to others, and would definitely stay here again.
