We have stayed several times at El Pueblo and a couple of years ago it was getting rather tired - but they have done many improvements and it again a charming place at a great value. We travel with our dog and it is dog friendly and has nice places for them to get outside. Walking distance to the Plaza, shopping, galleries and restaurants makes it, in our opinion, the best place to stay in Taos!

We agree with everything LadyRouge says. The continental breakfast was ample and varied but it would be improved with some protein beyond hard-boiled eggs instead of carbs, carbs, carbs. A more serious complaint is the lack of safety grab bars in the bathtubs. But overall, the El Pueblo gets 5 stars from us.

This is a fabulous place to stay in Taos. It is walking distance to the downtown and was very close to Michael's bakery plus several other shops. Our room was spacious, clean, nicely decorated plus had a large new bathroom. The breakfast area was really cozy and they had really nice outdoor seating. They had a pool and a hot tub which we did not take advantage of but I did use their small workout facility. The people who worked there could not have been more nice and helpful with things to do in the area. I highly recommend if your staying in Tas to stay here.

From check in to check out, this was an amazing experience. We arrived in Taos with no reservation for the weekend; planned on checking out a few places before choosing. El Pueblo was first on our list due to location and Trip Advisor ranking. We were greeted by incredibly friendly staff who let us check out the two available rooms before booking (so helpful!); we also got warm chocolate chip cookies. :) The new beds and linens, redone bathrooms, pool and hut tub were perfect. Breakfast was delicious and fun. Location is perfect: walkable to everything in town! The staff's restaurant recommendations were spot on. My husband and I are already talking about going back for Thanksgiving.

Room Tip: Be sure to double check if your room has AC when it's warm; staff definitely told us which did a...

My husband & I (& dog) stayed here for 3 nights (Rm147). Very spacious room with a nice kitchen area w. lots of storage. New bed very comfy. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Plenty of room to walk our dog. Only issue we had was a problem accessing the internet the first night, but that was fixed. We would recommend to others, and would definitely stay here again.

My sister and I had the pleasure of staying at the El Pueblo Lodge during Indian Market weekend in Santa Fe. All of Santa Fe was booked so that is how we came upon Taos and the El Pueblo Lodge....only about an hour away. Soooooo glad we chose this wonderful place among all the other choices!! I have stayed at five star exclusive hotels and the El Pueblo Lodge surpassed ALL of them in customer service, cleanliness, and service!! Because of stupid San Francisco Airport and their mix up with finding a gate for our airplane and the totally WRONG map from rental car service we missed our original check in time of around 6-7 pm......instead we arrived at almost 5 am. Alfred at El Pueblo Lodge stayed until we checked in.....saying he was worried about our safety and actually returned our call at 2am!! What other hotel would even do this?! i can not say enough about his level of customer service and his caring about our welfare. he was actually staying on the phone to give us directions.....you rock Alfred!! We were worried about our room being given away, but we worried for nothing.....we called and left a couple of messages and were treated like royalty upon arrival. Also Bridgette at the front desk went out of her way to suggest awesome destinations for dinner and brunch....every single one was spot on perfect and memorable,,,she treats you like family or a best friend.... loooooved that! And manager Kim is super awesome as well.....extremely professional and such a lovely personality..... she and the entire staff deserve nothing but raises and kudos!!! I don't understand all the negative ratings on here.....our room was so spotless we could have ate off the bathroom floor! We also made an effort to have conversations with the cleaning staff.....so i guess it says more about the person complaining than the awesome staff of the El Pueblo Lodge!! They also have two chocolate labs that hang out in the lobby and the property.....so this just made it more special.....it felt more like staying with friends than some uptight snobby resort with no personality!! ALSO....THIS IS HUGE.....BECAUSE WE ARRIVED THE FIRST DAY AT 5AM INSTEAD OF 6-7PM.....THEY DEDUCTED THE FIRST NIGHT FROM OUR BILL!!! They did it without us even asking.....huge brownie points right there! I am so convinced regarding their level of professionalism, customer service, cleanliness, friendliness, and charm that i am going to say thankyou El Pueblo Lodge for the wonderful memories and sign off with my name! Big thankyou and can't wait to come back, Norman Petri

Room Tip: Awesome HUGE clean jacuzzi and nice pool which closes at 10 pm, but management is not picky about it...

We have stayed at the El Pueblo three times in the past and enjoy the cleanliness of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff. We like the open areas with BBQ grills and horse shoe pits. Just a nice relaxing feel to the place. Our recent stay over labor day weekend had a nice surprise of new beds and bedding in all the rooms. Thus given as one of the reasons that the price was twice what we were accustomed to pay. Also the price goes up seasonally. Evidently, we have been there "off- season" in the past. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Room Tip: We forgot to ask for a pet free room and the time we made reservations. My husband is very allergic...
