I didn't know much about MR before the trip - I do now as I bought a biography at the museum - but visited on TA recommendations and was very extremely happy that I did. The collection is quite eclectic and interesting with some truly beautiful pottery and jewelry and a lot of information to absorb about the exhibits and the woman herself.
The two 'staff' we spoke to, who I believe are volunteers, were welcoming, charming and informative. The museum is a few minutes out of Taos, is easy to find and well worth an hour or so.

The museum is on the outskirts of Taos. We stopped by after a drive to the Rio Grande gorge. Millicent was a collector of many things, pottery, jewelry and rugs. Very informative (especially the gallery highlighting Maria Martinez.

Once Clark Gable's lover, Millicent Rogers then fell in love with Taos. Her collection of southwestern pottery and jewelry is extensive. Some fine paintings, but not so numerous. Housed in a converted home, also interesting.

This museum is a nice gem with wonderful insight into the (shortened) life and passions of Millicent Rogers, the Standard Oil heiress.

Also, for the pottery lover in you and more, the Maria Martinez gallery within the museum is quite an extensive and informative exhibit.

A tribute to rich lady from the first half of the 20th Century. She was stylish and commanded attention. The museum contains a varied collection of historical items from ancient woven blankets to flashy jewelry of Millicent's time.
