Jane Fonda's aunt (or cousin, depending on which source you check) was very fascinating and this collection and the house is very interesting.

I loved seeing the Maria bowls and learning about her family. Millicent Rogers and friends are very interesting. Love this museum.

The jewelry and pottery collections are some of the best in the Southwest! And don't miss the gift shop before you leave. This is also some of the best quality shopping in town with very knowledgeable staff.

Millicent Rogers was a well bred woman with good looks, good taste, talent and guts, oh and some money to back it all up.
This is an awesome and authentic collection of native american, regional art and history- especially the silver and turquoise jewellery along with the black-on-black Maria Martinez pottery. Ms. Rogers was a collector with a cultivated aesthetic sense. The pieces on display are exquisite examples of fine art in jewelry and ceramics. Every visitor to NM should see this museum first to see and maybe understand the qualities of fine pieces of jewelry, before they get sold items claiming to be authentic.
The gallery is beautiful architecturally and the staff are enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. We got a very clear and concise lesson in turquoise and coral authenticity in the gift shop, which has some very fine pieces for sale if you want the natural stones in fine artistic settings. This experience was worth the $ 10 admission ( $ 8 for seniors).

Millicent Rogers was a fascinating woman. I loved the collection of her jewelry (she "invented" the New Mexico look) and the in depth look at New Mexico santos, retablos and furniture.

The museum is located in a private residential area and was a private residence.
