“Average Diner Fare”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

Ate one meal here in a recent trip to Socorro. Service was ok, if a little cold. Food was what I would call standard diner fare. Nothing very special. It will fill you up, but there is no personality or flair. Building has been around for many years and not updated so everything is worn. Unfortunately not much competition in Socorro. I had no desire to return.

“Food is average....portion sizes are huge”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2013

Stopped in here and ordered the two burrito plate. The taste was bland. The portion size was gigantic. There was no way I could eat it all. We watched other dishes leaving the kitchen and found the same thing: huge, overflowing plates of food. The building has been in existence since 1962 and I don't think they have ever updated it. Servers were polite and helpful. I would only come back here if I wanted to eat a lot but not for the taste. Open 24/7.

Large menu with Mexican and American Food in a Restaurant that obviously has been a popular spot with the local residents for years.

“Awesome bacon!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

We ate two meals at EC...one breakfast and one dinner. The breakfast was fantastic; perfectly done French Toast, fantastically crispy bacon, incredible hash browns.

The dinner was just ok, but, given the size of Socorro, probably ranked in the top couple of spots.

Service both times was friendly, fast, efficient. Looking forward to going back (for breakfast!) and maybe to try a lunch.

“Great hangout and step back in time, with great food to boot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Almost went to K-Bob's down the street, but drove by this place and fell in love with the throwback to a different era style of the place. Nothing seems to have changed from the 1960s and 70s till now here. The design, the furnishings, the people, the service... etc... all felt the same... even though i was just a child then. Place was filled with locals and being a bit further from the highway than other places a few adventurous tourists. There is also a dark throwback lounge next door. Food was very good, home made with strong New Mex influence... quite enjoyed it at a reasonable price. Wish they were in Phoenix, Arizona !
