We were so tempted to visit Blue Hole since last year. We finally made it to Santa Rosa to see the Blue Hole. Driving from Albuquerque is a little boring as you have to drive in the middle of the desert (basically in the middle of nowhere). We were so amazed by this beauty on the desert. This is a jewel that you must see!! The water is so crystal clear!!
We really enjoyed our visit to the Blue Hole and highly recommend you visit!

Well what do you say. It is a clear water hole in the ground. An oddity’s for sure. Photo opportunity only.

Easy to find with sign posts, the Blue Hole has been around for a long time but is currently the playground of divers from all over who come to enjoy the clear water. No divers present the day I was there but the setting if is lovely. Tourist information and clean rest rooms available on site.

We were looking for something to do and decided to drive out to the Blue Hole. It is a beautiful area and would be a good place for a picnic.

This amazing little artesian spring is right in town and easy to access. We were pleasantly surprised by how few restrictions there are...the risks are clearly stated, but jumping off the low cliff is allowed and an access point is provided. Since its cool weather, we didnt even consider swimming but we could have if we wished!
The colors and textures of the water and the formations are fascinating and so rich!
This was definitely a worthwhile stop! Can only imagine what early pioneers thought when they came upon it in the desert!

Driving in NM can be boring with long stretches of nothing. We stopped to just stretch our legs and get some fresh air. It was a warm day, but not too hot. So we didn't jump in and swim. But we did put our feet in the creek that it spills into. The water is really cold, but clear. The actual hole has the bluest and clearest water. There are picnic tables if you wanna grab some food and let the kids play. The water in the hole is deep, and the steps are slippery, so for young kids I would suggest wading in the creek. It was a nice break. There are restrooms as well. There is a park nearby that has a huge swimming area with slides and such, and there are swings and play areas, so a great stop for those on a road trip and need a break.

It's free, so you can't beat the price! It is a cool little spot, great for just a stop to stretch you legs while traveling or to chill for a while. If you don't dive yourself, you can still enjoy sitting around the hole and watching others dive. It's conveniently located and in a perfectly safe and friendly area.

This was a great surprise to find in the middle of New Mexico. Be sure and plan ahead with a suit and maybe even dive gear!
