“Bit pricey for an average hotel”
Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

Stayed here whilst doing route 66, was in fact one of the more expensive motels we stayed on route, but was very average. On way to the room there was dirt on the carpets (they were having building works done though). The room was fine and large and clean so no complaints there. Breakfast was also adequate.
Overall an average hotel, which charges more than it should.

We stayed at this property last night on a road trip from Arizona to Illinois. I would rate this property as adequate for our needs with one huge minus. When we arrived it was late and I found out after receiving our room key that we had to negotiate a flight of stairs as the hotel has no elevator. I did secure this room through Priceline using their Express Deals. I have used Priceline quite a bit and have never run into a hotel without an elevator, so this was a surprise. I have bad arthritis in my hips and it took me quite a while to get up the stairs and my husband had to make several trips to get our luggage up the stairs. For this reason alone I would not recommend this hotel. I did ask the clerk at the desk about this and she did not seem to be sympathetic at all to the situation. Please note that this hotel is in my husbands sales territory and he stays in hotels at least 10 nights a month and this was a new situation for him, too.

Other than that, the hotel was clean. The corridors had stained rugs and our room had a cabinet that housed the safe and refrigerator with a broken door that opened into the path from the bed to the bathroom causing a night time hazard. The breakfast included with the room was adequate and average for this class of hotel. The hotel is in the process of being updated. With the exception of the broken door our room was in nice shape. The staff that I ran into did their job and that was all. I would give this hotel an average rating for a one night stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor before checking in if you have disabilities or don't want to h...

We stayed one night here on the way to Colorado. Hotel was having construction, but it did not affect us at all. They were pet friendly, with a nice area to walk the dog. It was convenient to the interstate, and is a pretty area. The room was fine and breakfast was a standard La Quinta offering. The rate was good and we would probably stay here again on another trip.

The staff were very friendly and gave a courtesy call, the room was clean and breakfast was great enjoyed it very much. There's a pool, laundry room and an exercise room. I would definitely come back, it's a keeper! It's also closes to I-40. If you have time visit "The Blue Hole" it's famous for scuba diving or go for a swim(60% water), I like that the best. No elevator only stairs to second floor.

We were on our way home from vacation and stayed here because we have stayed her before. The room we stayed in was clean with the exception of the sink which looked like someone had poured out some coffee into the sink and didn't clean it up. It could have been one of the workmen as they are in the middle of updating the hotel which does need it. I would stay here again as we have never had any issues with it. The people are very nice and helpful.

The staff were friendly, breakfast was great, and the rooms are huge. My only negative comment was the hallways were very dirty. Various pieces of food and paper litered the floors from our room on 2nd floor all the way down to the lobby. They were completely booked but did have a smoking room that we had to take because it was 2 a.m. and we were really tired.

Room Tip: If you want a much larger room, make the few more miles down the road to this property. The rooms h...
