I was on Route 66: I didn't want a chain motel experience, I wanted to be in an original. This motel was on the rise past all the others and was just what I was looking for. For the first time in four weeks on the road, the fellow in the office actually took me to me room, opened the door for me and made me feel very welcome.
Being an old motel, the room was a bit smaller than I have become accustomed to and there weren't as many power points but I managed. The main thing is that it was clean, well maintained and comfortable and at a great price. I even had functioning internet.
