First off, if you're not a jerk or overly sensitive, you'll get along with the gruff owner just fine. He's actually very nice, just not Mr. Friendly in your business. Pick up after your dog and don't let your kids clog up the toilets and you'll have no unpleasant interaction with him. Matt, the younger guy, is so sweet and personable he makes up for it anyway.
The campground is extremely clean. The bath houses are a little run down but they get cleaned hard every day, are spacious with nice little benches in the showers and excellent water pressure.
The wifi is almost nonexistent so don't plan on streaming movies, but the cable is great. We were there for a week and had dinner on the last night at the small onsite restaurant. I had brisket and my running buddy had fried shrimp. Everything was really good and people come from all over town to eat there. Get there early because they run out of stuff.
Our site was large and fairly level, gravel with a picnic table, plenty of room for our 34' motorhome and two cars. The grounds are low lit at night so you don't have to walk your dog or find the bath house in the pitch dark.
If we ever find ourselves back in Santa Rosa, we'd stay here again.More
