It made us sad to visit this place for a second time and found it lacking. I submitted a review 2 years ago for this restaurant and it was great. We stopped back this month on another trip through. What a disappointment! The same waitress was there and she was doing her best, but seemed frazzled and unorganized. It took almost 40 minutes for our order to be taken and food to arrive. It wasn't that busy. The food was no where near the quality as before. Too greasy and not the quality it had been. I hope that things can improve for them but we'll pass it by next time.

Slow kitchen service and there were only two other parties there when we stopped for lunch at 11:45. Two of our group of four had cold sandwiches, which were OK. One had a hamburger that was rubbery and one had fajitas. Neither of these finished their food. The place was probably cute when it was first opened but is past its prime. We'll try somewhere else next time.

The food was good, but not great. We both ordered Mexican platters. One only gets 1 bowl of tortilla chips. I suppose that perhaps there are people who abuse the system, but we are accustomed to unlimited chips when having Mexican food. The plates had decent portions, but were not exceptionally large. The waitress was very friendly, but rather slow and inattentive. If one likes the Route 66 atmosphere, then the place will have appeal. I found the plates a tad over-priced, but not excessively so. We would not go out of our way to eat there again, but if we were staying at one of the motels near, then we probably would due to convince.

I stop at this restaurant every time I go through New Mexico and am hungry, because their food always satisfies and the atmosphere nostalgic. Ramona served us with her bright cheerful smile, reminding us that Tuesdays are "$.99 taco day".
If you have the opportunity, give this place a visit. You can walk around and view some of their many pictures on the wall of Route 66 in its hey day as well as vintage automobiles.

The red chili sauce was very good. Great little restaurant with a nice mix of Mexican/American choices
