“Amazing Artist and Environment - DO NOT MISS THIS ATTRACTION!”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

We are enthusiasts of artists who have created works of art and enviroments where they live. Tinkertown is such an environment, and the best in the state. Tinkertown is not only the coolest attraction in New Mexico, but it rates up there with one of the Greatest Shows on Earth! There is something for everyone, with coin operated old-time machines, from fortune tellers to miniature circus arenas. The facility is in a beautiful setting in the Sandia Mountains just a short drive from Albuquerque. If you have ever visited House On The Rock, then you need to see this facility too. It is more digestible and the folks who work there are wonderful. The kids will love it, and people of all ages will have a great time. As we were there, I overheard an old couple reading one of the old signs that said something to the extent, "people who stop playing get old"....and the elderly man said to his wife, "I think this is a message to us....we need to have more fun", and she responded that she agreed. It was cool to hear and see that people who visit this place not only have a great time, but can also be moved to consider that life is short, and you should enjoy it every day.....I promise if you go here, it will make your day!!! Long Live Tinkertown!!!

The man that made this his life would have been someone most of us would have wanted to know. It appeals to all ages. You never know what is going to be around the next corner.

“If you like folk art and collectibles, you'll love this museum”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

Our friends recommended we visit the Tinkertown Museum, and we were very glad we took their advice. It was easy to find, not far from Albuquerque, and underpriced. The exhibits were whimsical -- there was so much to see and so much to make you smile. The owner -- the wife of the artist who has passed away-- spent lots of time explaining the art and her husband's passion for it.

“A Delight”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

This shady stop along the road to Sandia Crest is a must see. This is a true New Mexico, slow-down-your-pace kinda spot. Take your time to enjoy all of the details that this guy spent his life creating for us. Have a cool drink and just breathe in the clean air and retro feel of the place.
